The survey team found 6 serious landslides encroaching on the foot of the dike with a length of about 350m. The cracks encroached about 100m inland, and in some places deeper. On the 6 landslides in Den Tho, Cong Minh B, and Le Minh Chau B hamlets of An Thanh Dong commune; Day hamlet, Nguyen Tang hamlet of Dai An 1 commune, there are over 200 households living on 365ha of agricultural land. The cause is that the above river section is curved, the main flow of Hau river is close to the bank, combined with weak soil causing landslides and some shrimp farming households are losing money and not taking care of the dike, leading to landslides. Given the current unusual extreme weather conditions, if not reinforced in time, the lives and production of people in the area will be greatly affected.
The survey team requested the locality to closely monitor and promptly compile data to promptly develop a plan for reinforcement. The team noted the locality's proposal to propose funding to support investment in repairing the above-mentioned urgent landslides, because these landslides are part of the Project to Upgrade the Dike of the Ta and Huu River Estuary of Cu Lao Dung.
