The joy of realizing his dream of having a new house is still evident on the face of Mr. Nguyen Van Do, a 4/4 disabled veteran, in Vinh Xuyen hamlet, My Xuyen town (My Xuyen district). Mr. Do's old house used to be frequently flooded and leaked every time the water rose or it rained, making his life very difficult. Thanks to the support from the Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program with an amount of 30 million VND, additional resources helped Mr. Do have the conditions to repair his house to be more spacious with an amount of 50 million VND. "I am very happy because I have a safe, dry roof, no longer have to worry every time it rains or high tides", Mr. Nguyen Van Do shared happily.
Identifying the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people as one of the important political tasks, since the launch of the movement, local Party committees and authorities have urgently implemented and deployed the program, with the responsibility of ensuring quality, progress, and maximizing the effectiveness of the program. According to comrade Luong Hoang Nhanh - Vice Chairman in charge of the People's Committee of My Xuyen town, in order to promptly support people in building houses, the town established a volunteer team of about 40 people from the police and military forces to support working days for households with difficulties in labor resources. Due to her old age and loneliness, Ms. Lieu Thi Danh, 93 years old, a poor household in Rach Sen hamlet, Thanh Phu commune (My Xuyen district) was given priority by the local authorities to support the construction of a house from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. According to Ms. Danh, all of her living expenses mainly depend on the monthly allowance for the elderly, so she did not dare to dream of building a new house. Thanks to the timely attention and support from the government and the community, Ms. Danh has been able to live in a new, spacious, warm house with all the conveniences. Now she can sleep well and not worry when the weather changes.
As one of the localities with a large number of households needing housing support from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with 63 houses including new construction and repair. Therefore, from the beginning of the implementation, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Thanh Phu commune were very cautious, everything was carried out by the locality publicly, transparently, and to the right beneficiaries, so it received consensus and very good coordination from the people. In addition, Thanh Phu commune mobilized forces from organizations to directly participate in supporting working days to dismantle old houses, transport materials, etc. to help households build houses on schedule, ensuring the 3 hard criteria according to regulations.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Can, Dai Chi hamlet, Dai Tam commune (My Xuyen district) is one of the households in Dai Tam commune that received support to repair their houses from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Ms. Can has no land for production, her life mainly depends on hired work, so the local government's support to repair her severely degraded house is timely and meaningful, helping her have a stable place to live and strive to improve her life.

With the results achieved in My Xuyen district, it can be affirmed that the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is very humane and meaningful, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for the people with the motto of not leaving anyone behind.
