President Ho Chi Minh taught: "For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees, for the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people". Following his teachings, Soc Trang province always identifies tree planting as an important task, closely linked to the comprehensive development process of the province, not only for today but also for future generations. Along with that, the theme of this year's National Week of Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation is: "Clean water for a green, sustainable countryside". This is not only a propaganda slogan, but also a profound reminder of the responsibility of each of us in the work of preserving the precious resource of clean water and developing the countryside in a green, clean, beautiful and sustainable direction.

On this occasion, on the East-West Highway, Phu Loc town (Thanh Tri district), delegates planted nearly 3,200 oil and star trees, with heights ranging from 1.5 to 2 meters.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Vuong Quoc Nam said that with the spirit of the ceremony and the number of trees planted on the East-West road in Thanh Tri district, May 19 will be a good new start for the tree planting and afforestation movement in the whole province in general and the success of the socialized tree planting project in particular, contributing to the comprehensive and sustainable development of Thanh Tri district, ensuring a green - clean - beautiful urban environment and completing the criteria of the urban area.
