In the bustling atmosphere of the New Year, on February 3, 2024, our entire Party, people and army celebrated the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam - the Party of the working class, working people and the entire nation.

Proudly moving forward on the path of independence, unity, freedom and development, we have greater confidence that our Party will continue to lead our people to overcome challenges and difficulties to realize the aspiration of a strong, prosperous, civilized and happy country.
Proud and confident because by this February, we have gone more than half way through the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. It is a journey of many difficulties, some of which are unprecedented. COVID-19 has caused serious consequences, and the complicated developments in the political , economic and social security situation globally have deeply affected Vietnam. Most domestic industries and sectors have been seriously affected by the "post" COVID-19. While having to focus on solving newly arising complex problems, the whole country has to deal with weaknesses and backlogs left over from many years ago...
The country has steadily overcome the "headwind". The Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat have led, directed, and deployed the drastic, synchronous, and effective implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. Our country's economy continues to be a bright spot, the macro economy is basically stable, inflation, public debt, and state budget deficit are under control, and major balances of the economy are guaranteed. Economic growth in 2023 will reach more than 5%, a high level compared to countries in the region and the world. For the first time, our country's GDP reached 430 billion USD, ranking 3rd in ASEAN and among the 40 largest economies in the world, the top 20 economies in trade, and attracting foreign investment.
That is the basis for the belief that our Party will continue to steer the country's ship to near and far destinations.
It must be emphasized that the absolute trust that the people have in the Party was formed 94 years ago. On February 3, 1930, the Party founded by comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc took Marxism-Leninism as its political foundation and considered "the interests of the nation and the Fatherland" as the interests of the Party. That Party pursued the long-term and ultimate goal of the nation, which is "Independence - Freedom - Peace", fulfilling the sacred aspiration to bring the country to the stage of glory to stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents. President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: "Apart from the interests of the Fatherland, of the class, of the nation, our Party has no other interests".
The people's belief, along with the Party's advanced scientific doctrine, correct guidelines and mottos, and the pure revolutionary ideals and Party discipline of millions of genuine Party members, have led our country through the most difficult and arduous period in its more than 4,000 years of history. That is why, before the Party, the patriotic movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, although rising strongly with many different ideological tendencies and paths, all failed simply because they lacked these important factors.
The great victories and great achievements of our revolution under the leadership of the Party are proof. In the fall of 1945, the whole nation voluntarily participated in the General Uprising initiated by the Party to give birth to the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia. This was followed by the victory of the two resistance wars against France and the US and the battles to firmly protect the Fatherland's territory. And the Party brought the country out of the stagnation of the subsidy years to enter the cause of Renovation, industrialization, modernization of the country, and deep international integration.
From a besieged and embargoed country, our country has now expanded and deepened diplomatic relations with 193 countries, established comprehensive strategic partnerships or strategic partnerships with all 5 permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, and expanded economic and trade relations with 230 countries and territories.
Going through the difficult journey is also looking back at the unfinished and pending work to accumulate new experiences and new strength to move forward with many intertwined opportunities and challenges. Be proud of the great achievements and miracles that have been achieved, have absolute confidence in the leadership of our Party to the near and far goals, but do not be complacent or complacent because of that.
Frankly, in the past, there are still many old and new problems to be dealt with, many extremely complicated matters to be solved. There is still much work to be done in Party building, especially the fight against the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, corruption, waste, bureaucracy, and distance from the people...
2024 is the fourth year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. 2030 is the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding and 2045 is the 100th anniversary of the country's founding. We only have 6 years left to reach the goal of "a developing country with modern industry and high average income" and only 21 years left to complete the goal of "becoming a developed country with high income".
Time and opportunity wait for no one!
In order for the country to make a breakthrough, rise above, seize opportunities and overcome challenges, it requires the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army, more than ever, to be united, to concentrate their efforts and share their will to strive to build the Fatherland. Our Party is also making every effort to promote Party building and rectification, making the Party increasingly clean and strong, fulfilling its responsibility as the vanguard leading the revolutionary cause in the new period.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers is the burning desire of every Vietnamese person and the energy and development potential of the country is enormous. That revolutionary cause is extremely great, mighty, "a giant battle" as Uncle Ho said and that cause is extremely difficult and complicated. With the support of the absolute trust of the people, with the wise leadership of the Party, no obstacle can stop us on the journey to a developed, prosperous, civilized and happy Vietnam.
