At the Conference, on behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his congratulations and highly appreciated the important achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province have achieved in recent times.
The development model of nearly 3 decades has helped Binh Duong from a poor agricultural land to become a leading locality in attracting investment, especially foreign investment, with many achievements such as budget growth and per capita income.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, said that with this planning, Binh Duong is ready to start a new development phase with many new orientations full of aspirations for a rich, civilized, and affectionate locality, a closely connected piece between the remaining localities, as well as spreading development not only for the province itself.
“Administrative boundaries that have long been defined by bridges or rivers have now been almost erased, or local thinking like a blood clot that blocks the growth potential of the region and the whole country has now been replaced by the spirit of association, connection, taking the common interests of the country as one of the guiding principles in this planning” - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said.
According to the plan, Binh Duong will remove many bottlenecks in the development model of the previous period, as well as set a goal to become a centrally-governed city by 2030; one of the dynamic and comprehensive development centers of the Southeast Asian region; leading in science, technology and innovation, a modern industrial and service center; the socio-economic infrastructure system and urban system develop synchronously, intelligently and sustainably according to the green growth model, adapting to climate change, and protecting the ecological environment.
Improve the quality of life of the people, build a prosperous society; ensure national defense - security and social order and safety; at the same time, Binh Duong has placed itself in a deep and responsible development relationship with localities in the Southeast region to build the Southeast region into a dynamic development region, a leading center of the country and Southeast Asia in terms of economy, finance, education, training, science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
By 2050, Binh Duong will become a national and international urban, industrial and service center. The province will be the main driving force for the national economy, with industry, services and innovation as the foundation for development.
According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, planning plays a very important role in ensuring rapid, sustainable and synchronous development of the country, region, locality or sector. Planning guides and orients the exploitation and effective use of land, water - sea and underground spaces; promotes economic development and investment attraction, improves the efficiency of resource management and environmental protection; contributes to ensuring social justice and improving people's lives.
With the Binh Duong Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the Prime Minister requested Binh Duong to implement 5 contents: closely following the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State; closely following the practical situation of the locality, region and the world, especially the potential and strengths of the locality; closely following the needs and aspirations of the people; the planning must have innovative and breakthrough thinking, strategic vision, overall, inclusive and comprehensive; the planning must be one step ahead, while ensuring systematicity, science and efficiency.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province launched a number of key projects such as Ring Road 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway, Cay Truong Industrial Park and WTC Binh Duong Complex. These projects promise to create strong momentum for the province's socio-economic development in the future.
