On May 2, information from the Department of Health of Phu Tho province said that Thanh Ba District Medical Center had just organized a surprise reward for the medical team that had excellent achievements in successfully resuscitating a 12-year-old patient who went into anaphylactic shock after receiving an antibiotic injection.

At the ceremony, the board of directors of Thanh Ba District Medical Center acknowledged and highly appreciated the emergency team for their efforts and sense of responsibility in emergency treatment of a child patient who went into anaphylactic shock while receiving an antibiotic injection.

Notably, in this incident, while the doctors were providing emergency care, the patient's family members scolded, even assaulted, and kicked a male nurse in the stomach.

As Tuoi Tre Online reported earlier, at around 5:15 p.m. on April 25, KBL (12 years old) was taken by his family to Thanh Ba District Medical Center with swelling, bruising, and bleeding on his forehead, legs, and arms due to a traffic accident.

The patient was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury and frontal bone fracture due to a traffic accident.

At 5:30 p.m. the same day, when the nurse administered intravenous antibiotics according to the doctor's orders, 1/3 of the syringe (7ml/20ml of antibiotics) was filled, the patient showed signs of anaphylactic shock, difficulty breathing, rapid pulse, low blood pressure, and quickly fell into a state of circulatory arrest.

Recognizing the emergency situation, the on-duty team immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), treated anaphylactic shock according to the Ministry of Health 's protocol, and simultaneously alerted the entire center for emergency assistance.

While the doctors were giving first aid to the patient, the patient's family panicked, could not keep calm and started crying and cursing.

Even nurse Pham Van Nam of Thanh Ba District Medical Center was cursed and kicked in the stomach by Khuat Van Sinh - a patient's relative.

However, the doctors and nurses still tried their best to focus on first aid for the patient. After about 3 minutes, the patient's heart started beating again and 5 minutes later, the patient woke up, asked questions, and his blood pressure was stable.

After 20 minutes, the patient was awake, breathing oxygen through glasses, and could communicate normally with medical staff and family members.

After the patient was stable, doctors predicted that the patient might have further brain bleeding in the damaged area, so the patient was transferred to a medical facility capable of performing brain surgery for further monitoring and treatment.

These images were filmed by a local resident and posted on social media. After watching this video, many people were outraged and condemned the actions of the patient's family.

Afterwards, the director of Phu Tho Provincial Police Department directed the Provincial Police Investigation Agency to intervene and summon Khuat Van Sinh for handling according to the law.

At the investigation agency, Khuat Van Sinh confessed that his violation was due to anxiety, frustration, and being unable to control himself, he cursed and kicked the medical staff in the stomach while the medical staff was giving emergency treatment to Sinh's son.
