Media expert Le Quoc Vinh cited the show Impression Le Giang (directed by Zhang Yimou) and said Ninh Binh needs to find ways to develop its cultural tourism brand at the workshop "Using cultural industry as a lever for Ninh Binh tourism to take off" .
The workshop took place on the morning of May 9 in Ninh Binh province, discussing solutions to promote the cultural industry of Ninh Binh province to create momentum for the development of the tourism industry, aiming to realize the goal of welcoming 3 million international visitors here.
Is it possible to build a live show in Trang An?
Mr. Le Quoc Vinh said that there is a live show that many Vietnamese people traveling to China try to see, Impression Lijiang, directed by Zhang Yimou.
The special thing about this show is not only that it is the highest stage in the world , but also that it has the participation of more than 300 actors, mostly local people, performing continuously 2-3 shows/day regardless of how many guests there are.
This becomes a highlight, bringing in huge revenue for the locality where it takes place.
"From Impression Lijiang , is it possible to build a live show between heaven and earth in Trang An?", this expert asked.
According to Mr. Vinh, Ninh Binh has a unique landscape. "So can the province build a strong local cultural brand using the advantages of its own nature, people and culture?"

From a communications perspective, he believes that developing a local brand is not simply a matter of marketing or promotion. To build a local brand, it is necessary to identify the central idea of the brand, also known as core values.
"How will promoting cultural tourism in Ninh Binh be different from Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, or Hue?", he said, "it's not just about introducing beautiful scenery or culture, it's about showing tourists what is special/unique here, that other places don't have."
Mr. Le Quoc Vinh pointed out some factors to develop local cultural brands. In addition to being different, original, and having people participate in co-creation, there needs to be activities that create an impression.

He said that festivals that only take place once in a while are not enough to leave a lasting impression. There should be brands, high-quality live shows in Trang An is a suggestion that Ninh Binh can study.
Communication and promotion activities for tourism need to go deeper than introducing what we have to offer and knowing how to "hit" the experience of customers and tourists, only then can we "sell" local tourism products.
People's Artist Xuan Bac - Director of the Department of Performing Arts - said that it is completely possible to create impressive performance programs here. However, to do so, in addition to state regulations, there must be specific mechanisms to attract private investment; at the same time, the province must build a comprehensive ecosystem of cultural industries here.

"The story is not about what's local"
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam said: "Ninh Binh is the pearl of Vietnamese tourism, but the story of Ninh Binh is not what the locality has, but how to make the tourism brand competitive, widespread, and reach international level".
The Deputy Minister made some suggestions: The province needs to consider culture as a special resource, capable of long-term regeneration and profitability; thereby creating mechanisms and policies to attract private economic sectors, develop high-quality cultural tourism human resources, focus on digital transformation, build a set of indicators to measure sustainable cultural tourism development, etc.
Mr. Jonathan Baker - UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam - said that in addition to encouraging Ninh Binh to increase its participation in UNESCO's global initiatives, a number of strategies have been put forward: developing rural tourism, promoting tourism cooperative models, heritage incubators, and empowering local youth to participate.

"By putting culture at the heart of tourism and the community as the subject of action, we can fully unleash the potential of Ninh Binh as an international-class destination and a model of sustainable development," he said.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - Director of the Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism - shared that cultural globalization increases competition in the diversity of cultural expressions.
"Experience from countries around the world shows that promoting interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary aspects in creating cultural products, services, and cultural industries will create irresistible appeal at tourist destinations," she said.
