Dr. Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, delivered the opening remarks and introductory speech at the seminar.

The conference is a prestigious scientific forum where scientists, managers, and ideological fighters come together to share experiences, present new research findings, and propose groundbreaking and feasible solutions.

In his opening remarks and introductory speech at the seminar, Dr. Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, stated that the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 89-KL/TW of the Politburo on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation is of particular importance today. Given the major goals and tasks set out in the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress, along with the rapidly changing, complex, and unpredictable global situation, the need to protect the Party's ideological foundation (including Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the theory of the Party's reform line) has become even more urgent and vital for the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, especially in the context of globalization and the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution.

To effectively fulfill its mission of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, the social sciences and humanities must further strengthen their regular and close collaboration with natural sciences, engineering, and technology, and enhance interdisciplinary research in carrying out professional and political tasks. At the same time, the social sciences and humanities must draw upon their respective disciplines to effectively fulfill their mission of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Associate Professor, Dr. Do Xuan Tuat, Deputy Director of the Institute of Ho Chi Minh and Party Leaders (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics), shared that, entering a new era with many intertwined opportunities and challenges, the mission of protecting Ho Chi Minh's legacy for Ho Chi Minh studies, as well as political science, social science, and humanities, is not only a scientific task but also a political, cultural, and ethical responsibility.

A view of the conference.

To accomplish this task, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Xuan Tuat proposed that the field of Ho Chi Minh Studies should continue to proactively innovate its thinking, modernize its methods, leverage the power of digital technology, and strengthen the protection of Ho Chi Minh's legacy in all spaces, both domestically and internationally. In this, Ho Chi Minh Studies should play a core role in training personnel; standardizing documents; disseminating the values of Ho Chi Minh's life, career, thoughts, ethics, style, and methods to the public; and providing scientific arguments to refute false and distorted viewpoints. The field must always be at the forefront in the journey of preserving, researching, disseminating, and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's legacy for future generations; constantly fighting to protect and refute all conspiracies and distorted, false arguments, contributing to the firm protection of the Party's ideological foundation.
Discussing the promotion of building a national defense system and protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new era, Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Ba Duong, Member of the Central Theoretical Council, Head of the 35th Expert Group of the Central Military Commission, stated that the humanistic and humanitarian values of Vietnamese military humanism have been and continue to be a solid basis for the Party, State, and people to pursue peaceful and friendly relations with neighboring countries and international friends. This value is clearly reflected in the stance and viewpoints of our Party and State in implementing the "four no's" national defense policy as well as the Vietnamese bamboo diplomacy. This clearly demonstrates the vision, policies, and guidelines for building a national defense system and protecting the Party's ideological foundation, while upholding national independence and sovereignty, and strengthening solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the region and around the world.
At the conference, delegates thoroughly assessed the achievements of the past years and the challenges that need to be addressed; clarified the theoretical and practical basis for identifying and promoting the role and mission of social sciences and humanities in protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new era… From there, delegates proposed solutions such as: Strengthening coordination among research institutes, universities, management agencies, and media outlets in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; building a team of social science and humanities experts with sufficient dedication, competence, strong political acumen, and the ability to sharply refute the schemes, tactics, and arguments of hostile forces...
