Project of special significance

Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac - the father of President Ho Chi Minh was a patriotic Confucian scholar who passed the imperial examinations in the context of national loss and destruction. Understanding the misery and oppression of the nation, he left the officialdom to travel throughout the South to spread patriotism, national pride, and find ways to repel foreign invaders.

During his great journey from his hometown Nghe An to his final stop in Dong Thap province, he came to, lived and worked at Hoi Khanh pagoda in Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province today. This was also the place where he stayed and participated in patriotic activities for the longest and most continuous time, more than 3 years (from 1923 to 1926). During this time, Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac coordinated with Confucian scholars and patriotic monks here to establish the Patriotic Honor Association and through teaching, medicine, and medical treatment activities for the people to spread patriotic ideology.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh emphasized that this is a project of special historical, cultural and humanistic significance to the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province. The project was officially inaugurated on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, carrying political significance and a deep spirit of gratitude to his father - Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac.

With deep affection for him, over the years, Hoi Khanh Pagoda has respectfully preserved and maintained the worship of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac at the pagoda. Every year, on the 27th day of the 10th lunar month, the Organizing Committee of major holidays of the province coordinates with Hoi Khanh Pagoda to organize the death anniversary of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac to express deep gratitude and respect for a patriot who devoted his whole life to the ideal of patriotism and for the great cause of the nation.

From that meaning and to educate the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", preserve the cultural identity of the nation, express the respect and deep gratitude of Binh Duong people for the merits and noble personality of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac, who has contributed to spreading the patriotic ideology to all classes of people in the country in general and the people in Binh Duong province in particular; who gave birth to, raised and shaped the moral personality and patriotic spirit of the nation's beloved President Ho Chi Minh, Binh Duong province has a policy to build a memorial area for Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac, combined with urban renovation of the areas adjacent to Hoi Khanh pagoda campus - where he lived and worked during his time in Binh Duong.

For the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province, the project has special historical and cultural significance, not only expressing deep gratitude for the great contributions of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac, but also contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism and national pride for generations.

Once completed and put into use, the project promises to become a typical cultural and historical destination, associated with the modern and affectionate urban space of Binh Duong.

The memorial area is built in an open, harmonious space, suitable for the architecture of Hoi Khanh Pagoda, combined with urban embellishment, to form a complex of sacred cultural and historical space, a clean and beautiful green park, best serving the needs of learning, promoting, educating patriotic traditions, sightseeing, entertainment and recreation of all classes of people.

Accordingly, the memorial area has an area of ​​about 3.6 hectares, with the main items, including: Church and ceremony house Memorial area of ​​​​Phuc Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac. This is the central item of the project, designed according to Southern folk architecture combined with Vietnamese tradition, creating a solemn, intimate space with high historical and cultural value, consistent with the architecture of Hoi Khanh pagoda and the simplicity and purity like the life of Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac. The exhibition space recreates the life and career of Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac. The square in front is inspired by the bronze drum motif, serving community activities and traditional education. The urban landscape infrastructure is synchronously renovated, creating a highlight for the central area of ​​Thu Dau Mot City.

The investment capital for the project is a combination of public investment and socialized investment. In particular, the construction of the church and the memorial house is carried out with socialized capital invested by Becamex Corporation, with a construction cost of more than 83 billion VND; the remaining parts of the project are invested with the State budget to ensure efficiency and savings.
