Ministry of Finance denies information that some local offices are abandoned and "no one wants to buy"

Accordingly, after receiving information from the press (published on May 6), on May 19, the Ministry of Finance issued a document requesting the Departments of Finance of the above provinces to coordinate with relevant agencies to report to the Provincial People's Committees to urgently handle surplus houses and land according to the provisions of law on management and use of public assets; based on the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 125/CD-TTg dated December 1, 2024, Official Dispatch No. 91/VPCP-KHTH dated January 4, 2025 and guiding documents of the Ministry of Finance. At the same time, the Department of Finance was requested to specifically report on any problems for coordination in handling.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance assigned the leaders of the Department of Public Asset Management to directly discuss with the leaders of the Department of Finance of the localities and learned that the contents mentioned in the article are practical issues arising and difficulties in phase 1 of the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels (2019-2021).

After this period, based on the assessment of the actual situation of localities, the system of legal documents has been adjusted, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance have also issued documents directing, operating and guiding to solve problems arising from practice.

According to the Ministry of Finance, up to now, there have been complete documents guiding the implementation of the arrangement, allocation, and handling of houses and land at agencies, organizations, and units when arranging and streamlining the apparatus according to the provisions of law and the direction of the Party and State.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Finance will continue to review and report to competent authorities to perfect legal policies on management and use of public assets to implement the organizational arrangement of the political system.

At the same time, closely monitor the situation to urge and guide according to authority or report to competent authorities for additional guidance to resolve problems arising in practice.
