Not recognizing the results of the Congress of Traditional Martial Arts Association of Phu Yen province for the term 2025-2030

Mr. Vu Le Cat, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, has just signed a document to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Traditional Martial Arts Association of Phu Yen Province. Accordingly, the Department of Home Affairs does not recognize the results of the Congress of the Traditional Martial Arts Association of Phu Yen Province for the 2025-2030 term held on April 6, 2025 at the Hall of the Phu Yen Sports Training and Competition Center.

The reason given by the Department of Home Affairs is that at the congress, the Executive Committee of the Association has not elected a person to hold the position of President of the Association; some of the elected persons for the position of Vice President of the Association have not met the conditions and standards according to the Personnel Plan approved by the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2018-2023 term.

The Department of Home Affairs requested the Executive Committee of the Phu Yen Province Traditional Martial Arts Association for the 2018-2023 term to inform all members of the association that the organization of the Phu Yen Province Traditional Martial Arts Association Congress for the 2025-2030 term has not been recognized by the competent authorities. At the same time, it requested that the Phu Yen Province Traditional Martial Arts Association continue to lead and operate activities to ensure stability, solidarity and development.

When there is a decision from the competent authority on the merger of Dak Lak province and Phu Yen province, it is requested that the Executive Committee of the Traditional Martial Arts Association of Phu Yen province coordinate with the Executive Committee of the Traditional Martial Arts Association of Dak Lak province to carry out the merger procedures according to the provisions of law and the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.

The Phu Yen Traditional Martial Arts Association currently has about 1,900 martial artists practicing in about 40 clubs in localities throughout the province. This is the martial arts association with the largest tradition and number of practitioners in the province.

Currently, Phu Yen province has 4 martial arts associations: Vovinam Viet Vo Dao Provincial Association, Karate Provincial Association, Taekwondo Provincial Association and Traditional Martial Arts Provincial Association. Except for the Traditional Martial Arts Provincial Association, the remaining martial arts associations have successfully organized congresses and have been recognized by the authorities.
