The National Competition Commission stated that recently, authorities have discovered many cases related to the production and distribution of fake milk products and fake medicines; and exaggerated advertising of food products, with the participation of influential people in society. These cases are all large-scale, affecting the health, property and spirit of consumers.
The National Competition Commission recommends that businesses urgently review all legal documents of food and cosmetic products in the list of goods traded under the multi-level method to ensure that the products have been declared in accordance with regulations, circulated according to the declared content, ensuring clear and accurate information about ingredients, uses, quality, origin according to the provisions of law... Businesses do not provide information about food by using images, equipment, costumes, names, correspondence of units, medical facilities, doctors, pharmacists, medical staff, thank you letters, thanks from patients, articles of doctors, pharmacists, medical staff; Do not provide information about foods that post, cite, quote or express patient opinions describing foods that have therapeutic effects according to the provisions of Article 40 and Article 41 of Decree 40/2018/ND-CP and Decree 18/2023/ND-CP.
In the case of using influencers to introduce and promote products, the National Competition Commission requires both businesses and influencers to ensure transparency of information, avoid misunderstandings and strictly comply with the provisions of the Law on Consumer Protection, the Law on Advertising and related legal documents.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, information related to the multi-level marketing business and the content of this document are regularly updated by the unit and posted on the department's website so that businesses can update, grasp and comply with regulations.
