Will be the core of digital technology industry in Dong Nai

This concentrated IT Park project is one of three high-tech, concentrated IT, and innovation parks according to Dong Nai Province's Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

According to many experts, the planning of the development of a concentrated IT park will contribute to helping Dong Nai develop a digital technology industrial ecosystem, as well as help the locality have many favorable conditions and opportunities to attract international experts and scientists to transfer high technology, connect data centers, develop digital technology with strategic technologies such as IoT, AI, semiconductors, Big Data, etc.

This project will take advantage of the Long Thanh International Airport when it is put into operation, as well as promote investment attraction in modern data centers, international data flow circulation. At the same time, it will create a premise for developing projects on digital transformation, digital economy... in Dong Nai in particular and the Southeast region in general.

Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee DUONG MINH DUNG shared that relevant departments, branches, localities and units need to make efforts to ensure related procedures and progress of assigned tasks to strive to start the concentrated IT Park project before the National Day celebration on September 2, 2025, towards welcoming the 12th Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030...

Head of the Data Center & Cloud Partner Development Department, Southern Digital Communications Association (SVDCA) Pham Nguyen Xuan Quynh commented that the development of the Concentrated IT Park project is necessary for Dong Nai to take advantage of the advantages and development potential of the digital technology industry in the future, especially when Long Thanh International Airport comes into operation. The province needs to prioritize the development of infrastructure and data centers because this is an important foundation for the development and formation of a digital technology industry ecosystem in the locality.

Similarly, General Director of Long Duc Investment Co., Ltd. Ishii Hiroyuki (Long Thanh district) said that when developing a concentrated IT park, the province needs to pay attention to developing large-capacity infrastructure (electricity, water, telecommunications), developing infrastructure and high-quality management and operation services... to attract investment and develop high-tech fields.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, the Concentrated IT Park (Digital Technology Industrial Park) project aims to create a premise for the development of the digital technology industry, create linkages in the technology chain and produce digital technology products in the province. This project is expected to cover an area of ​​about 119 hectares located in Long Duc and An Phuoc communes (Long Thanh district).

The Department of Science and Technology and the Vietnam Institute for Green Transformation and Digital Transformation Development discussed and clarified the proposed additional contents to the Concentrated IT Park project, including: high-performance computing center, digital economic park, etc.

This center needs to ensure factors such as: high-performance computing capabilities, database systems, digital application complexes... to create conditions for connecting and integrating digital transformation models, promoting local economic and social development, including the digital economic park model. This model is suitable for the development of the concentrated IT park project (digital technology industrial park) that the province is planning to deploy.

Strive to start the project soon

According to Director of the Department of Science and Technology Ta Quang Truong, regarding the project's 1/2,000 planning progress, the Department of Science and Technology submitted the estimate to the Department of Construction for appraisal to establish the 1/2,000 planning and is continuing to complete related procedures to implement the next steps.

In addition, the Department of Science and Technology has proactively contacted the Department of Agriculture and Environment to sign a contract to mark and measure the 119-hectare land area planned to implement the project. At the same time, "the department has coordinated with relevant departments and branches to report and explain some contents related to the project to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

At a recent working session in early May 2025 with relevant departments, branches and units on the project of the Concentrated IT Park in Long Thanh district, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung requested relevant departments and branches to strengthen coordination and promptly complete procedures and documents related to the 1/2,000 planning for the project. In addition, the Department of Finance studies the conditions and reviews the steps for approving the investment policy for the project. After the project is approved for investment policy, the Department of Science and Technology proactively coordinates with the investor to report on the feasibility of the project, as well as develop a project integrating the requirements for the project to submit to the competent authority for consideration.
