The great national unity bloc will be continuously consolidated, making an important contribution to socio -economic development, constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people, bringing the country firmly into a new era, an era of national growth, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long affirmed.
On the evening of November 16, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi), Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended the opening ceremony of the "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week 2024 and the 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in 2024.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that, through thousands of years of history of fighting to build and defend the country with many ups and downs, the national identity and cultural traditions of Vietnamese ethnic groups have been constantly cultivated and nurtured through generations with core values of solidarity, ardent patriotism, national self-reliance, community awareness, and connection between individuals, families, villages, and the Fatherland.
"Our Party and State always pay special attention to the cause of cultural development and strengthening the great national unity bloc by promulgating and implementing many practical and effective guidelines, policies and strategies," said Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long. Thanks to that, cultural awareness has become more comprehensive and profound; cultural products have become more diverse and rich, meeting new and multifaceted demands of society. Many traditional cultural values and cultural heritages of the nation have been inherited, preserved and promoted. To date, Vietnam has had thousands of national cultural heritages, 134 special national relics, 8 tangible cultural heritages and 15 intangible cultural heritages of special value recognized by UNESCO and listed as World Heritage.
The great national unity bloc has been increasingly consolidated, creating the country's combined strength, contributing to promoting strong economic development and maintaining political and social stability. In particular, the nation's fine traditions of "mutual love" and "loving others as you love yourself" have been further promoted, clearly demonstrated in difficult and challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic or in preventing, fighting and overcoming the consequences of the recent storm No. 3.
Many shining examples in the patriotic emulation movement and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" have been commended, spreading good values into social life.
Developing the "Common Home" of the community of 54 ethnic groups
According to Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, the "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" week and the 7th Then Singing and Tinh Musical Instrument Festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups in 2024 are opportunities for us to continue to honor, introduce and promote the unique cultural beauty and values of Vietnamese ethnic groups; commend outstanding examples from ethnic groups across the country; and practically celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23. At the same time, continue to strongly spread the humanistic values, the spirit of great solidarity, the tradition of mutual love and love for the homeland of the Vietnamese people.
For many years, this important event has been successfully held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism - a place that recreates, preserves and promotes traditional cultural heritages typical of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
"We are pleased to see that since its official opening, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism has made constant efforts, innovated, and created, increasingly developed in operation, landscape architecture, and gradually become a "Common Home" for the community of 54 ethnic groups," the Deputy Prime Minister assessed.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the spirit of great solidarity is a tradition and a precious cultural heritage of our nation. The strength of great national solidarity is an important driving force and a decisive factor in all victories of the Vietnamese revolution.
Over the years, organizing activities to celebrate the National Great Unity Day has become a beautiful tradition, bringing the work of the Front back to the community, towards each family and each person; constantly building, consolidating and promoting the people's mastery; strengthening the strength of the National Great Unity bloc and enhancing the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In the new development stage, the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030 identifies: "Arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, the will to be self-reliant and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc to build and defend the Fatherland. Maximizing the human factor, considering people as the center, subject, most important resource and goal of development; taking Vietnamese cultural values and people as the foundation, important endogenous strength to ensure sustainable development".
"We firmly believe that, with the tradition of ardent patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, attachment and the thousands of years of cultural history of the nation, the unique values of the advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, will continue to be built, preserved and promoted; the great national unity bloc will be constantly consolidated and strengthened, making an important contribution to socio-economic development, constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people, bringing the country firmly into a new era, an era of national growth," the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that the "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week and the 7th Then Singing and Tinh Instrument Festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups in 2024 with the motto "Letting cultural subjects introduce themselves will bring a joyful and united atmosphere, with many activities such as: organizing exhibitions, introducing products, cultural spaces, reenacting unique festivals of ethnic groups, special folk songs and dances, performing ethnic costumes, competing in traditional sports. Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Northwest, Central Highlands and Southwest, performing arts, traditional crafts, cultural exhibitions. Especially the organization of the Then Singing and Tinh Instrument Festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups - a unique form of folk art and culture recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity - with More than 400 artisans and mass actors participated in performances, introducing the art of Then singing and Tinh lute; displaying and introducing cultural products, demonstrating weaving and making Tinh lutes, and introducing unique culinary cultures of the localities.
According to Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy, the traditional cultural values that have been forged over thousands of years of history of building and defending the country will be a solid foundation for Vietnam to confidently enter the "New Era - The Era of National Rising" as stated in the message of General Secretary To Lam at the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee recently.
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long presented gifts to ethnic people participating in daily activities at the Village and delegations attending the Festival.
