And in the near future, a competition to get rich may also be launched nationwide. This once again shows that the role of the private economy is constantly being affirmed, its position is being enhanced, and it is becoming an important driving force for the economy.
The development environment of the private economy is increasingly open. |
In fact, the private economy in the whole country in general, and in Tien Giang province in particular, has had a better environment for development. However, according to the general assessment, there are still some shortcomings and limitations affecting the playing field of the private economy. For example, institutions and laws are still the "bottlenecks of bottlenecks", hindering the development of the private economy; some unnecessary and unfeasible business conditions have not been abolished or amended in a timely manner; investment and business procedures in some industries and fields are still complicated and lack transparency; some policies to support businesses are difficult to implement; the internal capacity of the economy is still limited, especially in terms of capital, governance, application of science and technology, digital transformation, and application of new business models such as green economy, digital economy, and circular economy. Not to mention, the thinking and awareness of a number of cadres and civil servants are still heavily influenced by "asking - giving"; There is still a lack of responsibility, harassment, complicity in negativity, vested interests, corruption, and waste.
Looking from the new reality, we can see that the revolution in thinking about developing the private economy or launching a competition to get rich at this time is appropriate. This will contribute to removing the barriers that have existed and are currently affecting the operation of the private economy.
At the macro level, the Central Government expects that the private economy will be the most important driving force of the national economy; a pioneer in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo . The Central Government also sets a very specific target that by 2023, there will be 2 million enterprises operating in the economy, 20 enterprises operating/thousand people; at least 20 large enterprises participating in the global value chain; at the same time, the average growth rate will reach about 10%-12%/year, higher than the growth rate of the economy; contributing about 55%-58% of GDP, 35%-40% of total state budget revenue; creating jobs for about 84%-85% of the total workforce; labor productivity will increase by an average of about 8.5%-9.5%/year.
Many barriers are gradually being removed so that the private economy can become an important driving force of the country. |
In his speech at the Conference on implementing Resolution 66-NQ/TW dated April 30, 2025 of the Politburo on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development recently, General Secretary To Lam also emphasized that, in addition to great achievements, we also need to frankly acknowledge that the country is facing great challenges. Economic growth shows signs of slowing down; labor productivity and innovation capacity are still limited; growth quality is not really sustainable; the risk of falling into the upper middle-income trap still exists. Although the business environment has improved, there are still many barriers; infrastructure is not synchronized; the socialist-oriented market economic institution is not yet complete.
Looking to the future, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that only drastic, persistent and effective reforms can help our country overcome challenges, seize opportunities and realize the aspiration for rapid and sustainable development in the new era. Looking to the future, we clearly identify that if we want to develop rapidly and sustainably, Vietnam cannot follow the old path. We must dare to think big, act big, carry out major reforms with the highest political determination and the most persistent efforts.
The revolution in economic development thinking, focusing on the private economy, has officially begun. Along with the whole country, we still expect that the private economic force will be an important driving force of the country. So from now on, everyone and every household will be encouraged to get rich; of course, getting rich must be legitimate and in accordance with the law.
