Dong Nai plants more than 25 million trees in the 2021-2025 period

This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security tradition day, and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang; Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Brigade Commander of the 22nd Armored Brigade and leaders of departments, branches, unions, farmers and businesses in the province.

The launching ceremony of “Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho” in 2025 with the theme “Sowing green seeds - Nurturing life” is very meaningful in protecting the environment, aiming to promote the movement of planting trees, planting forests, promoting the tradition of planting trees according to Uncle Ho's call. Making tree planting a practical and effective emulation movement of all levels, sectors, in each residential area with the active participation of the whole society.

As a result of the implementation of the "Project to Plant One Billion Trees in the 2021-2025 period", by the end of 2024, the whole province had planted nearly 20.6 million trees of all kinds. The implementation plan for 2025 is that the whole province will plant 4.4 million trees. Thus, it is expected that in the 2021-2025 period, the whole province will plant more than 25 million trees of all kinds, exceeding the plan of the Provincial People's Committee by 5 million trees; exceeding 16 million trees (221%) compared to the target assigned by the Central Government.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang assessed that Dong Nai is a province with many industrial parks, many enterprises, rapid urbanization, large area of ​​forest land converted to other purposes for economic development in the coming time (expected to be about 200 hectares), planting trees is even more meaningful; contributing to stabilizing the tree coverage rate in the province at 52%, forest coverage rate at 28.7%, completing and exceeding the targets according to the resolution of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council.

Responding to the Prime Minister's program of planting one billion trees "for a green Vietnam", Dong Nai province has actively implemented the program with the spirit of the entire political system participating, implementing it in many forms and with diverse funding sources.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 27 collectives, 37 individuals, and 4 households contributing to the implementation of the "Project to Plant One Billion Trees in the 2021-2025 period".
