From practical experience, it can be seen that Thai Nguyen possesses many favorable conditions for developing human resources in the digital age. As the third largest education and training center in the country, the province has a large and well-trained young intellectual workforce. This is an important advantage, but to transform it into a growth driver, the education system needs to be more closely linked to the requirements of the digital economy and the modern labor market.
Recent developments at Thai Nguyen University demonstrate that this vision is gradually being realized. The establishment of the Institute for Excellence in Training and Research, and its selection as one of 13 higher education institutions to develop a system of excellence and talent training centers in Industry 4.0 by 2030, represents a proactive step in improving the quality of training and research.
At the specialized level, member schools are also undergoing significant changes. Content on the digital economy, digital society, and artificial intelligence is being incorporated into teaching with an emphasis on practical application.
Virtual studios, AI labs, and practical technology projects help students gain early exposure to the modern work environment. This fosters a workforce capable of directly participating in the digital content and technology production chains of domestic and international businesses.
Directive No. 14 of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee demonstrates a practical and long-term approach. The province focuses on practical solutions such as popularizing AI knowledge among the workforce, supporting tuition fees for STEM fields, and encouraging training in emerging areas such as semiconductors, drones, and digital arts. These are areas with the potential to create new competitive advantages if invested in correctly and promptly.
However, developing a digital workforce goes beyond just training. Talented individuals always have choices and will only stay long-term in places with opportunities for growth and a transparent work environment.
Bordering the capital city of Hanoi, with gradually improving transportation infrastructure and broadband coverage reaching remote areas, Thai Nguyen is forming a favorable foundation for young intellectuals to settle down and build their careers.
What is needed is to build a sufficiently robust innovation ecosystem in which startup ideas are supported by policy, connected with businesses, and have genuine opportunities for commercialization.
All sustainable development strategies must be people-centered. Thai Nguyen is facing a clear opportunity for transformation, with digital human resources as a crucial endogenous driving force.
When investments in education and science and technology are properly prioritized, the province will build a solid foundation for long-term growth and enhance its competitiveness in the digital age.
