Nurturing entrepreneurial spirit

Reporting at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi stated that the 7th National Student Entrepreneurship Day is an annual event, a gathering place for students across the country who are eager to continue writing the story of innovation and creating the future for the country. At the same time, she affirmed the message: Entrepreneurship is not simply a career choice - it is the way each student learns to create the future with their own hands and minds.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, implemented since 2017, the Prime Minister's Project 1665 on "Supporting students to start businesses until 2025" has achieved certain results.

Entrepreneurship and innovation have been integrated into the curriculum of many levels of education, especially at university and college levels. Over 120 higher education institutions have included entrepreneurship in their curriculum, either as a compulsory or elective course.

The Ministry of Education and Training coordinates with ministries, sectors and localities to guide educational institutions in building creative startup spaces, developing business incubation programs, and connecting with startup centers to support students and lecturers in realizing startup ideas. To date, more than 65% of localities have implemented plans to support startups in high schools.

The increasingly complete policy framework has created important breakthroughs, creating a legal corridor for startups in education and training.

“After 7 years of implementation, it can be affirmed that Project 1665 is not simply an action program in the education sector, but has truly become a driving force, an important link contributing to the process of forming and developing the national creative startup ecosystem,” said the Deputy Minister.

In the context of comprehensive digital transformation, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Vietnamese education not only aims at "teaching literacy and vocational training", but also aims to foster entrepreneurial spirit, problem-solving ability, and aspirations for global citizenship.

“The breakthrough period is opening an era in which each student will not only be a learner, but also a creator, entrepreneur and builder of the future,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Many students aim to start a business early.

Speaking at the festival, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu said that through scientific research activities, many students have nurtured their passion, formed clear learning goals and oriented to start a business early.

“This is an important bridge between general education, vocational education and university education, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals of the 2018 education program and the national education development strategy for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045,” Mr. Hieu commented.
