Gia Lai: Floods after storm No. 13, Kliec bridge on Truong Son Dong road collapsed

On the morning of November 7, Gia Lai province authorities blocked off the Truong Son Dong road section passing through Po To commune due to the collapse of Kliec bridge.

Accordingly, at around 1am the same day, Kliec bridge located on Truong Son Dong road, passing through village 4 (Po To commune), suddenly collapsed due to the impact of floodwaters. The road leading to the bridge and part of the bridge abutment collapsed with a length of about 10m and was swept away by floodwaters. Fortunately, there were no vehicles passing by at this time.

Immediately upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Po To commune directed forces to coordinate with Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department, Gia Lai Provincial Police) to set up a blockade at the bridgehead to prevent vehicles from passing.

It is known that Kliec bridge was built about 20 years ago, the bridge is about 60m long and is the only route across Kliec stream, connecting Po To commune and Cho Long commune, so it has a large traffic volume.

This incident has seriously affected traffic of people in the old Ia Pa district to the old Kong Chro district via National Highway 19.
