Student-centered

Mr. Tap is the Principal of Na Hy Ethnic Boarding High School (Dien Bien). He recognizes that in the context of the entire education sector promoting fundamental and comprehensive innovation, transforming management thinking in ethnic boarding and semi-boarding schools has become especially important.

Accordingly, the boarding school manager not only does administrative work, but also creates a humane, creative learning environment that is suitable for the characteristics of ethnic minority students. “The management mindset needs to shift from 'management' to 'service' - taking students as the center, taking their progress as a measure of quality” - Mr. Tap emphasized.

To meet that requirement, Na Hy Ethnic Boarding High School has implemented many synchronous solutions, aiming to improve the quality of teaching and learning, and comprehensively develop students. In particular, the most prominent are innovation in professional management, promoting teachers' creativity, and linking teaching content with the reality of life in the highlands.

In addition, the school focuses on educating life skills, independence and self-management skills through experiential activities and career guidance, helping students develop self-control, team spirit and community awareness.

According to Mr. Tap, the model of “Discipline – Love – Responsibility” is the guiding principle for all school activities. In that environment, teachers are role models, students are the center, all regulations are aimed at developing personality and knowledge. Along with that, the school promotes the application of technology in management, closely connects with parents, authorities and social organizations, forming a sustainable educational support network.

Manage with love and responsibility

Talking about the difficulties in managing boarding schools, Mr. Tap shared that the biggest challenge is how to ensure discipline while maintaining a friendly, warm atmosphere for students away from home. The way the school community chooses is to manage with love and responsibility.

Teachers are not only teachers but also “second parents”, eating, living, listening and sharing with students. This companionship helps students become more confident, attached and form a positive learning habit.

The school also attaches importance to the coordination with the local government, parents and ethnic communities. Thanks to the consensus of the three environments - school, family, society, the education of students has achieved sustainable results. Many meaningful programs such as "Helping children go to school" and "Pho yeu thuong" have become bridges of love, contributing to improving the quality of care and education for students in mountainous areas.

Memorable memories and the “key” of trust

Recalling the years of attachment to Na Hy Ethnic Boarding High School, Mr. Tap emotionally recounted the story he called “I have to make a commitment to you”. That was the case of a 12th grade female student who returned to school after Tet holiday in the situation of being married. Her husband did not agree to let his wife continue to go to school because he was worried that she would “change her mind”.

Understanding that fear, Mr. Tap gently told the young husband: "Don't worry, I promise you, your wife will not change her mind. Let her finish her last year of school, gain knowledge to raise the children better in the future."

Those sincere words touched the husband's heart. The student was able to return to school and graduated high school in overwhelming happiness. For Mr. Tap, it was an unforgettable memory, a testament to the power of love and patience in education.

From practical experience, Mr. Tap concluded: “The most important key to arousing the learning spirit of ethnic minority students is trust and love. When students feel the trust and sincere care from teachers, they will be bolder, more confident and strive to overcome difficulties.”

Looking back at the school's development, what makes Mr. Tap most proud is the maturity of the students and the dedication of the teaching staff. Despite many difficulties, the teaching staff has built a warm, disciplined, and humane learning environment, where every student has the opportunity to learn, be loved, and develop comprehensively.
