Starting a business with feng shui landscape products

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Recently, Ms. Le Thi Dang, a member of the Women's Union of Quang Phu commune (Tho Xuan) was honored to receive the Outstanding Award from the Provincial Women's Union for her idea "Song Thu Waterfall - creating green space" at the "Startup Ideas and Products" contest in 2025 organized by the Provincial Women's Union. This is one of the ideas selected to compete at the regional level in the coming time, making Ms. Dang more excited and confident with her efforts over the past many years. This will be the motivation and stepping stone for her to be more steadfast and determined on the path to starting a business.

The art product "Song Thu Waterfall" is made of high-quality composite material, capable of adapting to harsh weather conditions, withstanding great impact, anti-oxidation and good insulation, no moss or mold like traditional stone or ceramic products. The product is super light, easy to transport and install; high physical and mechanical durability, the product is left natural for up to 70 - 80 years. The product has many sizes and diverse designs from mini models for the table to large models for gardens and resorts. In addition to its decorative function, the art product "Song Thu Waterfall - creating green space" also helps balance feng shui, regulate the air, create a harmonious and relaxing living space. This is one of hundreds of feng shui products that Ms. Dang and her husband have diligently researched, created designs and styles to make, meeting the needs of customers across the country.

Meeting Ms. Dang again at her family's factory, after the "Startup Ideas and Products" contest, she is still busy with new production work and livestream sales. According to her, selling online has many advantages. Customers all over the country know about her family's products and place more orders than customers who come to the factory to buy. Ms. Dang shared: Making feng shui miniature products is very difficult and elaborate. You have to really love the job and study customer psychology to create designs and styles. The factory has many types of products. The waterfall line alone has many types of designs, such as water hyacinth waterfalls, innovative water hyacinths, national water hyacinths; peacock waterfalls, origin waterfalls... Each design is decorated with some other details depending on the needs of the customer, such as pine trees symbolizing longevity and strength for consumers to buy as gifts for their parents with the wish that their parents have good health, live long and happily with their children and grandchildren; Twin-moon waterfall represents marital happiness... All product lines must be researched and created to capture the customer's psychology to attract customers. At the same time, attention must be paid to environmentally friendly product materials and product durability... According to Ms. Dang, creating a product is a feat, and being accepted by the market as it is today is an unexpected success.

Coming from a poor Catholic family, despite her excellent academic achievements at school and winning a provincial competition for excellent students, Dang had to give up her dream of going to university. Due to poor health, she could not do heavy work, so she had to sell goods for hire and then try her hand at small business. In 2014, Dang got married and worked many jobs with her husband to make a living. Life was hard, but it was also the time when she accumulated life experience, learned patience, courage and sensitivity to market needs. She always had a burning desire to start a business and did not allow herself to give up her dream of starting a business.

Not having the opportunity to go to university like her peers, Dang chose to study on her own. She learned from her predecessors, from reality, from books and the internet..., then gradually accumulated knowledge to prepare herself for a new journey - the journey of starting a business after the age of 30.

In 2016, Ms. Dang and her husband started a business making molds for construction fences. Realizing that this was a potential field, she decided to learn the trade and invest. From zero, she learned the techniques, learned how to manage orders, marketing... Despite many failures, Ms. Dang still persevered. Gradually, the couple mastered their skills and built a reputation.

After 6 years, the mold making job gradually stabilized, the family had a better income, Ms. Dang thought about expanding the production scale. This was a turning point - from manual labor to a more clearly oriented economy . Realizing the trend of using feng shui products and decorative miniatures was becoming more and more popular and had a large number of customers, in 2023, she started making feng shui waterfall models with artistic elements. The products have received love from customers inside and outside the province. To bring the products to the market, she taught herself how to shoot videos, edit short clips, write communication content, and promote on social networks. From a farmer who did not know about technology, Ms. Dang has mastered the use of Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, and YouTube to communicate and reach customers. This is the result of a spirit of constant learning and determination to conquer technology to serve her startup. Up to now, the family's total annual income has reached 600 - 700 million VND, creating regular jobs for 6 workers.

Along with economic development, Ms. Dang is also a good mother in the parish, actively participating in social and religious activities in the locality; supporting and helping households in difficulty, participating in movements and activities of the association, contributing to building solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics.

With her efforts in starting a business, in 2019, Ms. Dang was commended by the Executive Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union for winning the encouragement prize in the contest "Creative ideas among young workers in Thanh Hoa province"; in 2022, she was commended by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union for her ideas and products that won the outstanding prize of "Women's Creative Startup Day"; in 2025, she continued to be commended by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union for winning the outstanding prize in the final round of the contest "Startup ideas and products".
