Foreign investors suddenly sold net, VN-Index dropped nearly 11 points

On August 15, the Vietnamese stock market turned down, ending a streak of 9 consecutive increasing sessions. The VN-Index opened in the green and at one point soared to 1,665 points. However, by the end of the session, widespread selling pressure pulled the index down. At the end of the session, the VN-Index fell 10.69 points to 1,630 points.

Market liquidity turned to decrease after yesterday's breakout session, with total trading volume on the three floors reaching more than 2,412 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND65,972 billion.

Foreign investors sold strongly for the 7th consecutive session on all 3 exchanges, more than 3,087 billion VND, focusing on codes HPG (700.13 billion VND),FPT (507.68 billion VND), MBB (493.93 billion VND), VPB (279.95 billion VND), VCB (222.04 billion VND)...

On the contrary, the codes that were net bought the most in this session included VIX (173.48 billion VND), VND (88.36 billion VND), CII (63.76 billion VND), HCM (56.14 billion VND), MBS (55.43 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the matched order value this session decreased compared to the previous session, reaching more than 57,474 billion VND.

In this session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increased by more than 6.84 points include: VJC, BSR, MBB, VIX, EIB, VPB,SHB , ACB, GEE, VSC.

On the contrary, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index by more than 10.48 points included: BID, VCB, CTG, TCB, LPB, FPT, STB, GVR, MSN, HVN.

In terms of industry groups, this session, software stocks had a negative performance, down 2.38%, mainly from FPT, CMG, ELC, ITD, HPT, CMT... Some stocks increased including SBD...

The group of securities stocks this session leaned towards green, with an increase of 0.64%, mainly from codes VIX, VND, HCM, FUEVFVND, BSI... On the contrary, a few codes decreased including SSI, VCI, SHS, FTS...

Banking stocks traded mainly in red and closed down 0.91%, mainly from VCB, BID, TCB, CTG, LPB, STB... Some codes increased including VPB, MBB,ACB , HDB...

Real estate stocks this session were in red and decreased by 0.72%, mainly from codes BCM, KDH, SSH, NVL, LBC, PDR, DXG... On the contrary, the increasing codes included VHM, VRE...

Energy stocks this session were mostly green, up 2.68%, mainly from codes BSR, PLX, COM, VTV... Declining codes included PVS, PVD, MVB, PVC, VTO...

Insurance stocks traded in green and closed up 0.6%, mainly from BVH, BIC, PTI, ABI... Declining stocks included PVI, MIG, VNR, BMI, PGI, PRE...

Retail stocks performed negatively, down 1.89%, mainly from MWG, PNJ, FRT, HUT, DGW, HHS, CTF... On the contrary, the stocks that increased included PET, HTM, TLP...

* The Vietnamese stock market index was in red today, VNXALL-Index closed down 15.31 points (-0.54%), down to 2,799.34 points. Liquidity with a trading volume of more than 2,099.7 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 61,218.6 billion. In the whole market, there were 107 stocks increasing in price, 59 stocks remaining unchanged and 302 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 282.34 points, down 02.81 points (-0.099%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 210.9 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND5,022.24 billion. In the whole market, 50 stocks increased in price, 47 stocks remained unchanged and 133 stocks decreased in price.

The HNX30 index closed down 12.15 points (-1.9%) to 627.74 points. Trading volume reached over 131.84 million units, equivalent to over VND3,780.78 billion. In the whole market, there were 4 stocks increasing in price, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 24 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 109.61 points, down 0.34 points (-0.31%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached more than 129.58 million shares, corresponding trading value reached more than 1,484.33 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 122 stocks increasing in price, 127 stocks remaining unchanged and 214 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 10.69 points (0.65%), to 1,630 points. Liquidity reached over 2,072.1 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND59,466 billion. The entire floor had 84 stocks increasing, 37 stocks remaining unchanged, and 261 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 index decreased by 10.53 points (-0.59%) and stopped at 1,783.25 points. Liquidity reached more than 826.09 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 29,527.9 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 9 stocks increasing, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 19 stocks decreasing.

The 5 stocks with the highest trading volume are SHB (over 120.15 million units), MBB (over 117.47 million units), CII (over 73.84 million units), VPB (over 64.88 million units), VND (over 61.24 million units).
