The road to Tan Do hamlet is paved with wide concrete. |
Coming to Tan Do hamlet now, we feel many new features. On both sides of the concrete road leading to the hamlet, which has just been put into use, the Party flags and the bright red national flags are flying. In the center of the hamlet, the project to preserve the traditional village of the Nung ethnic group stands out with many meticulously designed items. This is a project implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and was just handed over to the locality at the end of April this year.
Mr. Chu Van Huong, Head of Tan Do hamlet, excitedly said: With the attention and support of all levels and sectors and the solidarity and diligence of the people, the hamlet is increasingly prosperous.
To help people here gradually improve, all levels and sectors in Dong Hy district have implemented many solutions, such as: Organizing training, applying science and technology in agricultural production; deploying economic development models; promoting propaganda, mobilizing people to proactively access new knowledge, actively converting crop and livestock varieties...
Typically, in 2024, Dong Hy District Agricultural Service Center implemented the model of "Biosafe capon breeding" in Tan Do hamlet, with a scale of 1,500 hybrid Ri roosters, with 13 participating households. Through summarizing the model, it shows that the Ri rooster breed has a survival rate of 90% or more through all stages.
Economically, with 1,500 chickens raised for 170 days, sold at 130,000 VND/kg, the profit is nearly 85 million VND. From the effectiveness of this model, the whole Tan Do hamlet has nearly 20 households continuing to invest in raising capon chickens with a total of thousands of chickens this year.

Along with applying new production models, Tan Do people also actively convert to high-yield crop varieties. For example, tea trees, on average each year the village replants and replants about 2 hectares, mainly hybrid tea varieties.
Currently, the whole hamlet has about 30 hectares of tea, 90% of which is hybrid tea. Thanks to the active application of science and technology in production, the lives of people in Tan Do hamlet are increasingly improved. On average, each year, the hamlet reduces 2-3 poor households and now only has 2 households left.
With economic development, Tan Do residents have the opportunity to contribute to the construction of infrastructure projects. In 2024 alone, 27 households in Tan Do hamlet donated over 3,000 square meters of land to build roads. Up to now, all hamlet roads have been expanded and concreted.
Mr. Trieu Tien Thanh, a resident of Tan Do hamlet, said: To expand the road to the project to preserve the traditional village of the Nung ethnic group, my family donated a part of the land area to the hamlet. I see that when there is a big, beautiful road, the appearance of the hamlet is much more spacious.
Not only focusing on economic development, people in Tan Do also care about preserving cultural identity in many ways such as: effectively maintaining sli and luon singing clubs; actively participating in activities to preserve and promote traditional cultural values organized by the locality; preserving stilt houses and traditional festivals...
In particular, the project to preserve the traditional village of the Nung ethnic group has been put into use, not only helping local people preserve their cultural identity but also creating conditions for building cultural tourism sites.
Before saying goodbye to us, Tan Do Village Chief Chu Van Huong said: The people in the village will continue to unite to improve their lives and aim to make Tan Do a destination for many tourists.
