Successfully controlled coastal forest fire in Song Cau town

On the afternoon of April 23, Mr. Le Van Tan, Deputy Director of the Song Cau Town Protective Forest Management Board, confirmed that a forest fire had just damaged about 7 hectares in plots 1 and 3, sub-zone 38 (Xuan Canh commune). This is a planted forest, mainly casuarina trees, planted since 2003. This forest area belongs to the PACSA project (coastal afforestation), supported by the Japanese organization JICA.

Authorities arrived promptly to handle the fire.

Previously, on April 22, the Cu Mong Station forest protection management force was patrolling and discovered the above-mentioned forest fire. After that, the authorities mobilized about 70 people from: Song Cau Town People's Committee, Song Cau Town Protective Forest Management Board, Forest Protection Department, Xuan Canh Commune Police, Military Command, Song Cau Town Border Guard... along with fire fighting equipment, to try to extinguish the fire.

By 7:00 p.m. on April 22, the fire had been completely extinguished. The Song Cau Town Forest Protection Management Board is maintaining the scene, actively coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities to investigate and verify the cause and perpetrator of the forest fire.

At present, the fire has been completely controlled.

It is known that the Phu Yen Provincial Forest Protection Department has just issued a plan to coordinate inspections of forest fire prevention and fighting work throughout the province, in order to respond to unpredictable weather developments.
