Admission methods for the Banking Academy in 2025
In 2025, the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV) will recruit 3644 students through 5 admission methods as follows:
Method 1: Direct Admission
The Banking Academy offers direct admission to its full-time undergraduate programs for eligible candidates as stipulated in the Admission Regulations, specifically as follows:
1. Labor Heroes, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and National Emulation Soldiers are directly admitted to the majors and programs specified by the Banking Academy in the annual admissions plan.
2. Candidates who have won first, second, or third prize in national or international student excellence competitions or national or international science and technology competitions organized or nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time elapsed since winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission consideration.
3. The Director of the Academy, based on the candidate's high school academic results and the requirements of the training program, will consider and decide on admission for the following cases (in necessary cases, the candidate must complete one year of supplementary studies before officially beginning their studies):
a) Candidates with severe disabilities who have a disability certificate issued by a competent authority in accordance with regulations, and who are capable of studying certain majors at the Banking Academy but are unable to apply through the normal admission method;
b) Candidates who are members of ethnic minority groups with very small populations as defined by current government regulations, and candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region;
c) Candidates who have resided in a place of residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years, and graduated from high school in poor districts (students attending ethnic minority boarding schools are considered based on their place of residence) as stipulated by the Government and the Prime Minister ;
d) Foreign candidates who have achieved a score in the Vietnamese language knowledge and proficiency test that meets the current regulations of the Minister of Education and Training.
Method 2: Admission based on high school academic results
How admission scores are calculated for standard training programs and international joint training programs:

In there:
- M1, M2, M3 are the average scores of the subjects in the subject combination of the registered major over three years of study, rounded to two decimal places, with M1 being the main subject.
* For subject combinations: A00, A01, D01, D07, D09, the main subject (M1) is Mathematics.
* For subject combinations C00, C03, D14, D15, the main subject (M1) is Literature.
How admission scores are calculated for standard and high-quality training programs:

In there:
- M1, M2, M3 are the average scores of the subjects in the chosen major over three years of study, rounded to two decimal places. M1 is defined as Mathematics, and M2 as English.
M1 = (Average score for subject 1 in grade 10 + Average score for subject 1 in grade 11 + Average score for subject 1 in grade 12)/3
M2 = (Average score for subject 2 in grade 10 + Average score for subject 2 in grade 11 + Average score for subject 2 in grade 12)/3
M3 = (Average grade for subject 3 in grade 10 + Average grade for subject 3 in grade 11 + Average grade for subject 3 in grade 12)/3
- Bonus points for encouragement:
+ Group 1: Candidates who win a consolation prize in the national excellent student competition will receive 1.5 points; those who win first, second, third, or consolation prizes in the provincial/city-level excellent student competition will receive 1.0, 0.75, 0.5, and 0.25 points respectively (subjects for which points are awarded: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, History, Geography, English, Informatics).
+ Group 2: Candidates from specialized high schools: add 0.5 points.
Method 3: Admission based on international certificate results
How admission scores are calculated:
Admission score = Converted Certificate of Eligibility score x 3 + Priority points
In there:
- Priority points: priority points based on region and category as per current admission regulations.
- The converted international certificate score is the score of the corresponding international certificate converted to a 10-point scale, specifically as follows:
| IELTS (Academic) | TOEFL iBT | SAT | Points converted on a 10-point scale. |
| 6.0 | 72 - 80 | 1200 - 1250 | 8 |
| 6.5 | 81 - 90 | 1251 - 1300 | 8.5 |
| 7.0 | 91 - 100 | 1301 - 1350 | 9 |
| 7.5 | 101 - 110 | 1351 - 1400 | 9.5 |
| ≥ 8.0 | ≥ 111 | ≥ 1401 | 10 |
Method 4: Admission based on the results of aptitude tests.
VAT
Scoring method: Since the maximum score for a subject in the VSAT exam is 150, to convert to a 30-point scale, the admission score for the VSAT-based admission method is determined as follows:

In there:
- M1, M2, M3: These are the V-SAT test scores for the subjects in the combination required for the chosen major.
- Priority points: priority points based on region and category as per current admission regulations.
Hanoi National University's aptitude test (HSA)
How admission scores are calculated:
Admission score = HSA test score x 3 + Priority points
| HSA test score | Points converted on a 10-point scale. |
| 85 - 94 | 8 |
| 95 - 99 | 8.5 |
| 100 - 104 | 9 |
| 105 - 109 | 9.5 |
| ≥ 110 | 10 |
Method 5: Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
With standard training programs and international collaborative training programs.
Admission scores are calculated on a 40-point scale and converted to a 30-point scale, with double points awarded for common subjects, specifically as follows:

In there:
- M1, M2, M3 are the 2025 high school graduation exam scores for the three subjects in the subject combination of the registered major, with M1 being the main subject.
*For the admission combinations: A00, A01, D01, D07, D09, M1 is conventionally defined as Mathematics.
*For the admission combinations: C00, C03, D14, D15, M1 is conventionally defined as Literature.
- Priority points: priority points based on region and category as per current admission regulations.
With high-quality training programs.
Admission scores are calculated on a 50-point scale and converted to a 30-point scale, with double points awarded for Mathematics and English, specifically:

In there:
- M1, M2, M3 are the 2025 high school graduation exam scores for the three subjects in the subject combination of the registered major. By convention, M1 is Mathematics and M2 is English.
- Candidates with English language certificates may be exempt from the English exam and their scores will be converted and considered together with the other two subjects in the combination. (See the conversion table for IELTS and TOEFL iBT scores to English exam scores in Method 3)
