(Chinhphu.vn) - The Ministry of Health recommends that provinces, cities, and hospitals not be passive, surprised, or interrupt medical work in responding to natural disasters during the time of arranging, perfecting the apparatus, and reorganizing administrative units and organizing local governments at two levels.

Implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 76/CD-TTg on focusing on responding to heavy rains, landslides, flash floods and proactively preventing natural disasters in the coming time, to proactively respond and minimize damage, especially to people's lives and property during the 2025 storm season, the Ministry of Health requests the Departments of Health of provinces and centrally-run cities and units under the Ministry of Health to strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister; the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense, the Ministry of Health and related documents on implementing natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue work.

At the same time, proactively grasp the situation of storms and floods to proactively develop prevention and control plans; avoid being passive, surprised, and not interrupting medical work in responding to natural disasters when arranging, perfecting the organizational structure and rearranging administrative units and organizing local governments at 2 levels.

Hospitals and institutes with beds under the Ministry of Health must prepare human resources, ambulances, medical equipment, medicine, and consumables to promptly respond to provinces affected by the storm when ordered to mobilize.

For the Department of Health of provinces and cities, the Ministry of Health requests to direct and take responsibility for supervising and inspecting hospitals and affiliated units regarding their readiness to respond to natural disasters, storms and floods, especially trauma emergency care; ensure 24/7 communication with emergency units to be ready to participate in response when mobilized.

Coordinate with local authorities to inspect and review unsafe medical facilities in areas at risk of landslides during heavy rains; proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of medical facilities in low-lying areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods and landslides.

Review, adjust, and supplement the reserve of medicines, chemicals, and medical supplies for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue during the rainy and stormy season according to the "four on-site" motto; ensure adequate supply of essential medicines for the people, without being passive or surprised.

Organize environmental sanitation and disease prevention work according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health; stabilize medical examination and treatment for people after floods.
