On August 2, the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) sent an official dispatch to the Department of Health of provinces and cities; drug import and production establishments on ensuring drug supply during the 2025 flood season.
In order to ensure adequate supply of drugs to prevent diseases that may arise during floods, such as: pink eye, dengue fever, diarrhea, skin diseases, etc., the Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities to direct drug production, trading and import establishments in the area to have plans to reserve and provide adequate and timely drugs for treatment needs, especially ensuring the number of drugs to serve disease prevention work according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health; avoid drug shortages and fluctuations in drug prices.

For medical examination and treatment facilities, proactively make a list of essential medicines for people, promptly plan, order and purchase additional medicines, reserve, and ensure there are enough medicines to serve medical situations affected by storms, floods, and epidemics.

Drug production, trading and import establishments must prepare a source of quality drugs at reasonable prices to prioritize adequate and timely supply for disease prevention and control needs.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam will prioritize and consider handling according to regulations import orders for drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients that do not have circulation registration certificates to meet urgent needs in disease prevention and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
