On April 24, the Department of Tourism ( Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ) sent a document requesting the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and centrally run cities to strengthen safety assurance in tourism activities during the holidays and peak summer tourism season in 2024.
The document clearly states: Localities and tourism management agencies need to direct and effectively manage to avoid arbitrary price increases, forcing customers, causing negative impacts on the tourism industry. At the same time, localities promote and introduce tourist destinations, products and services to serve tourists on the basis of promoting cultural identity, historical traditions, characteristics of the land, people and culinary specialties.
The Department of Tourism requests localities and units to direct tourism businesses in the area to strictly implement Official Dispatch 36/CD-TTg dated April 11, 2024 of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic order and safety to serve the increasing travel needs of the people.
Management boards of tourist sites, travel agencies, tourist accommodation establishments, and related business units strengthen self-inspection, supervision, and maintain service quality. Relevant parties ensure environmental sanitation; food hygiene and safety; closely monitor fire prevention and fighting, and strengthen inspection of fire prevention and fighting, rescue, and relief equipment. At the same time, units implement civilized codes of conduct in tourism; ensure safety of means of transport, manage parking lots, and look after vehicles serving tourists.
Tourist areas and spots with water entertainment services and tourist transport vehicles must seriously implement solutions to ensure security and safety for tourists. Transport and travel businesses must not use unregistered, uninspected, and unsafe vehicles to serve tourists.
On the other hand, localities and tourism management agencies direct business units to strictly comply with regulations on registration, public posting of prices of goods and services and selling at the correct listed prices products and services serving the entertainment, shopping, sightseeing, experience and culinary needs of tourists (service prices must be posted at the reception area, in a visible place, where customers approach before using the service); do not arbitrarily increase prices, force customers, causing negative impacts on the tourism industry.
Localities shall inspect, examine, monitor, promptly detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals that do not ensure tourism business conditions, tourism service quality standards, and violations of tourism laws and related laws.
The Department of Tourism requests the Department of Tourism Management of provinces and centrally-run cities to send and update reports at https://thongke.tourism.vn (quick report section) so that the Department can promptly grasp the situation and evaluate the results of tourism activities during the April 30 - May 1 holiday.
