Although it used to be among the best-selling cars in Vietnam, the Kia Carnival gasoline version is gradually falling into a difficult situation to sell. After the company switched to a strategy of prioritizing diesel and hybrid engines from the end of 2024, the gasoline version of the Carnival has almost no market share.
To push sales, dealers have been continuously offering strong incentives for this model. Currently, Kia Carnival 3.5G Signature (7S) is being offered by some dealers for 1.549 billion VND, equivalent to a discount of up to 210 million VND.

Meanwhile, the New Carnival line (differentiated from the gasoline version of the old model Carnival) is also being offered incentives. Vehicles manufactured in 2025 are discounted from 20 - 50 million VND depending on the version, bringing the starting price down to 1.279 billion VND.
The New Carnival Signature 7-seat VIN 2024 is reduced by up to 100 million VND, down to 1.489 billion VND - cheaper than the gasoline version of the old model.
Thus, even with a heavy discount, the price of the Kia Carnival gasoline engine is still only equivalent to the highest diesel engine version. If considering the same VIN 2024, the gasoline engine version is even more expensive than the highest diesel engine version. Meanwhile, the gasoline engine version is often not very popular due to high fuel consumption. A big reason preventing users from buying the diesel engine version is the initial selling price, but now it is no longer the advantage of the gasoline engine version.

One of the highlights of the Kia Carnival 3.5G Signature (7 seats) is the 3.5L V6 gasoline engine. This engine produces 269 horsepower, maximum torque of 331Nm, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, providing powerful performance in the large MPV segment.
This pure gasoline engine has been officially eliminated since the Carnival facelift launched in 2024. Since then, Kia Carnival has only two engine options left: 2.2L diesel engine and 1.6L turbocharged hybrid.
Despite having a powerful engine and many high-end features, the Kia Carnival petrol version is still having a hard time in the market. One of the main reasons why this MPV model is less attractive than the diesel version is its high fuel consumption.

According to data published by the manufacturer, Carnival 3.5G Signature (7 seats) consumes up to 13.5 liters/100km in urban areas and an average of 9.7 liters/100km in mixed conditions.
Not only does it "guzzle gas", the gasoline version also has a significantly higher selling price. The listed price of the Carnival 3.5G Signature (7S) is up to 1.759 billion VND, while the equivalent Carnival 2.2D Signature 7S version is only 1.589 billion VND.
