Kien Giang: Phu Quoc welcomes guests on first charter flight from Czech Republic

400 tourists on A350-900 flight number WFL8623 from Prague (Czech Republic) arrived at Phu Quoc island after more than 12 hours of direct flight, opening the return of the Eastern European tourist market.

On October 24, Phu Quoc city ( Kien Giang province) welcomed the first charter flight from the Czech Republic, marking the return of the Eastern European tourist market in the last months of 2024, creating momentum to continue developing tourism in 2025.

At Phu Quoc International Airport, representatives of the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, Phu Quoc City People's Committee and Meliá Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort welcomed the delegation with a respectful and hospitable spirit.

Ms. Quang Xuan Lua, Director of the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that this group of tourists flew directly to Phu Quoc after 1 year of promoting tourism, connecting flights from Eastern Europe to the pearl island.

This is an opportunity for the province to promote, introduce and advertise the image and tourism products of Phu Quoc to tourists from the Czech Republic, in order to effectively exploit this potential market in the coming time.

According to the schedule, the group will stay on Phu Quoc Island for 1 week, experience and visit entertainment spots in the northern part of the island such as VinWonders Phu Quoc, Grand World Phu Quoc, Vinpearl Safari, explore the tropical nature of the sea and island and the center of Duong Dong town.

This is the second year Melia Vinpearl Phu Quoc has welcomed guests from the Czech Republic, with the number doubling compared to 2023.

The unit is ready to provide optimal resort services for all-inclusive vacations and renew entertainment activities for tourists, Mr. Mario Caballero, Regional General Manager of Meliá Vinpearl Phu Quoc and the Southern region shared.
