At the meeting, the People's Council of Kien Giang province reviewed and gave opinions on 6 groups of contents: Regulations on decentralization of authority for public asset management; procurement of other goods and services under the management of Kien Giang province. Adjustment and supplementation of the public investment plan for 2023; adjustment of the capital plan for the period 2021-2025 to implement the national target program on new rural construction in the province.
Deciding on investment policies and adjusting investment policies for 6 projects. Regulating tuition fees for publicpreschool and general education institutions in Kien Giang province for the 2023-2024 school year.
Issue a list of basic and essential public services using the State budget in the field of archives. Consider assigning the total number of employees receiving salaries from the State budget in public service units, special association payrolls and labor contracts in 2023.
Delegates of Kien Giang Provincial People's Council voted to pass the draft resolution at the meeting.
Based on the review of the draft resolutions submitted by the People's Committee of Kien Giang province; the verification reports of the Economic - Budget Committee, the Cultural - Social Committee, the Legal Committee, the People's Council of Kien Giang province; based on the provisions of current laws and the actual situation of the locality, the People's Council of Kien Giang province discussed and unanimously voted to pass 14 draft resolutions of the People's Council of Kien Giang province.
Notably, there is a Resolution deciding on the investment policy for the coastal erosion prevention project of Thu Hai - Xeo Ban section in An Bien - An Minh, Kien Giang province; a Resolution deciding on the investment policy for the coastal erosion treatment project of Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province.
The investment objective is to build a sea dike line as a shield to prevent and combat coastal erosion, a sea dike line from Thu Hai to Xeo Ban in the context of climate change, rising sea levels, preserving and regenerating mangrove forests and coastal agricultural land in An Bien - An Minh district (Kien Giang). Building a sea dike line to serve the work of preventing and combating coastal erosion in Hon Dat district (Kien Giang).
Two embankment lines with a total length of about 20km (each place about 10km), reinforced concrete structure. The total investment for the two projects is 500 billion VND, from the central budget reserve fund in 2023.
Investing in two projects will contribute to protecting and improving the environment, stabilizing residential areas, creating conditions for livelihood and economic development for an area of about 55,000 hectares and about 90,000 people in coastal communes in the project area to be sustainably protected.

Speaking at the closing session, Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Council Mai Van Huynh said that these are important resolutions, providing a legal basis for continuing to implement public investment projects in accordance with the law, contributing to promoting the progress and disbursement rate of public investment capital in the province in 2023 and effectively implementing the medium-term capital plan for the period 2021-2025.
To effectively implement the Resolutions just passed by the People's Council of Kien Giang province, comrade Mai Van Huynh requested the People's Committee of Kien Giang province to direct relevant agencies to urgently implement them.
