Strengthening the Steering Committee against illegal fishing

Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi has just signed a Decision to strengthen the Steering Committee against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (abbreviated as IUU fishing) in the area.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen is Head of the Provincial Steering Committee on IUU.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen is the Head of the Committee. Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Van Chien is the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee. Representatives of the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of the Provincial Police and 30 members of the leadership of relevant departments, branches, Phu Quy special zone, communes and wards with fishing boats operating are members of the Steering Committee.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province is assigned to be the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee for Combating IUU Fishing. The Steering Committee advises the Provincial People's Committee to effectively implement solutions to combat IUU fishing and sustainably develop the fisheries sector in the area under the direction of the Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister, the Head of the National Steering Committee on IUU, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and in accordance with the provisions of law. At the same time, the Steering Committee monitors, urges, inspects, supervises and evaluates the results of anti-IUU fishing implementation of relevant agencies, units and localities, and coordinates to promptly handle arising difficulties and problems.
