On the winding road of National Highway 27, nearly 60 km south of Buon Ma Thuot city, visitors will encounter a natural freshwater lake that never dries up, associated with the legendary story of a talented young man named Y Lak. Lak Lake - Dak Y Lak (meaning "water of Y Lak" in the M'Nong language) is more than 500 hectares wide. This second largest freshwater lake in Vietnam (after Ba Be Lake) is surrounded by the majestic Chu Yang Sin mountain range and rice fields belonging to the villages of the M'Nong people in Lak district, Dak Lak province.
