At this session, the People's Council of Cat Tien district focused on discussing and evaluating the situation and results of the implementation of socio -economic development, national defense and security tasks in 2023, deciding on tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, national defense and security in 2024. In addition, the session also reviewed 29 reports and proposals submitted by the Standing Committee of the District People's Council, the District People's Committee and related sectors at the session. The delegates of the District People's Council questioned to clarify issues of concern to voters and resolved many other important contents.
The District People's Council highly appreciated the management and operation of the District People's Committee in synchronously implementing solutions to successfully implement socio-economic development goals, ensuring national defense and security in 2023; well resolving social security policies; maintaining political security, ensuring social order and safety; strengthening administrative reform. The inspection work of the People's Procuracy, the trial activities of the People's Court, and the enforcement work of the Civil Judgment Enforcement Office were carried out in accordance with the provisions of law.
However, the District People's Council discussed and found that in the implementation of socio-economic, national defense and security tasks in 2023, there are still certain limitations such as agricultural production and collective economic development are still limited, not bringing about economic efficiency as expected; productivity and output of crops and livestock continue to increase but the main products are still exported raw, unprocessed; attracting investment in industrial and tourism development is still limited; compensation and site clearance to implement a number of construction projects are still slow; the implementation of administrative procedures, especially in the field of land, the rate of late records is still high.

Along with comprehensive, thorough and cautious discussion and consideration, the District People's Council passed 11 Resolutions with a high approval rate. This is an important legal basis to promptly resolve issues arising from practice; strengthen State management, organize effective implementation; mobilize important resources of the district for socio-economic development in the coming time.
In his closing speech at the meeting, comrade Duong Hung Cuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of Cat Tien District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council requested the District People's Committee, branches, localities, agencies and units to focus on implementing the resolutions passed by the District People's Council in an urgent, specific and effective manner. The Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Council's committees, the delegations and the District People's Council delegates should strengthen supervision of the implementation to ensure the effectiveness of the resolutions immediately after they are issued.
In addition, the District People's Committee, agencies and units seriously receive the legitimate opinions and recommendations of voters, questions from the District People's Council delegates and are responsible for promptly considering and resolving them; assign the Standing Committee, committees and delegates of the District People's Council to supervise and urge the implementation.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the District People's Council also emphasized that 2024 is a sprint year, of special importance in successfully completing the goals, targets and tasks of the Resolution of the 8th District Party Congress. It is forecasted that the world situation will continue to be complicated and unpredictable; global economic, trade and investment growth will continue to slow down; the domestic and provincial and district situations will have opportunities and advantages intertwined with difficulties and challenges, especially difficulties due to unstable agricultural product consumption prices, high raw material prices, low liquidity in the real estate market; weather, natural disasters, and epidemics will continue to develop unpredictably..., affecting production and people's lives as well as general direction and management work throughout the district.
Therefore, it is recommended that the Standing Committee of the District People's Council, the committees of the District People's Council, the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the People's Court, the People's Procuracy, the Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency, authorities at all levels and relevant agencies and organizations, within their scope, tasks and powers, focus on implementing measures to ensure effective implementation of newly passed resolutions; innovate management, direction and operation, further improve operational efficiency to create strong changes, contributing to the highest level of achievement of the socio-economic development goals in 2024.
