Signing of Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing eco-tourism, resort and entertainment project in Bat Xat district

On the morning of May 5, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies, units and localities to organize the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project in Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province with Evergreen Forest Conservation and Ecotourism Company Limited and Forest Conservation Ecotourism Company Limited.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; representatives of Bat Xat district leaders and businesses signing cooperation agreements.

Bat Xat district has many potentials and advantages for developing ecotourism , resorts and entertainment. Meanwhile, the signing enterprises have the capacity and rich experience in developing ecotourism associated with forest conservation and biodiversity, and wish to research and invest in developing ecotourism, resorts and entertainment projects in Bat Xat district.

Mr. Tran Son Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province spoke at the signing ceremony.

At the ceremony, the parties exchanged, discussed and agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the following contents: Researching investment, building and implementing eco-tourism, resort and entertainment projects, aiming to effectively and sustainably exploit the potential of natural landscapes, biodiversity, environment and diversity of cultural resources; conserving and developing sustainable forests, protecting natural resources and environment, preserving culture and national identity. At the same time, creating sustainable livelihoods for communities living near forests to participate effectively and equally in developing and managing tourism activities.

Representatives of Evergreen Forest Conservation and Ecotourism Company Limited and Forest Conservation Ecotourism Company Limited spoke at the signing ceremony.

After the project is approved by the competent authority, the enterprises will promptly complete the relevant procedures as prescribed, mobilizing maximum resources to implement the project according to the committed schedule. The enterprises ensure the implementation of sustainable environmental measures, including environmental protection, forest conservation, biodiversity, village cultural values, etc. throughout the process of surveying and researching projects in the area. At the same time, closely cooperate with the local community to ensure that the project brings social and economic benefits, including job creation, capacity building and cultural preservation.
