New Guinness Record for World's Longest Baguette

The new world record for the longest baguette was set at an event of the French Federation of Bakers and Pastry Chefs in Suresnes, a suburb of Paris.

On May 5, a group of French bakers set a new Guinness World Record by making a 140.53 meter long baguette, which is 235 times longer than a traditional baguette.

The new world record for the longest baguette was set at an event of the French Federation of Bakers and Pastry Chefs in Suresnes, a suburb of Paris.

The team of 18 bakers began kneading the dough at 3am on May 5 (local time), before putting the bread into a specially designed slow oven.

The previous record for the longest loaf of bread belonged to the Italian city of Como with a length of 132.62m, set in June 2019.

A portion of the bread, at least 5cm thick, was cut off and shared with the public. The rest was given to the homeless.

By standard, a traditional French baguette is about 60 cm long, made only from flour, water, salt and yeast, and weighs about 250 grams./.
