Celebrating 123 years of establishment of Dong Nai General Hospital

At the ceremony, generations of doctors who were former leaders of the Department of Health, Dong Nai General Hospital through the periods, along with the staff who have worked and are working at the hospital, reviewed together the 123-year history of the hospital's establishment and development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Dong Nai General Hospital Ngo Duc Tuan said that the predecessor of Dong Nai General Hospital was Bien Hoa Hospital (also known as Bien Hoa Pilot Hospital). From a small-scale hospital, the hospital was gradually upgraded and expanded to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of the people.

On April 25, 2015, after 8 years of approval and construction, the new Dong Nai General Hospital (No. 02, Dong Khoi Street, Binh Da Ward, Bien Hoa City) was put into use with spacious, modern, and fully equipped facilities and machinery, and a team of human resources that is increasingly improved in both quality and quantity.

Over the past century, despite many difficulties and challenges, with a spirit of solidarity, high unity and determination, the hospital's Board of Directors has unanimously led and directed the hospital to overcome difficult times, continue to develop comprehensively, and meet the increasing needs of medical examination and treatment of the people.

At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Binh highly appreciated and congratulated the results that Dong Nai General Hospital had achieved. Thereby, it contributed to helping Dong Nai's health sector successfully complete its task of protecting and caring for people's health.

However, the leaders of the Department of Health also requested that the hospital's leaders and staff not "rest on their laurels", but continue to make efforts and innovate to overcome difficulties and challenges. These include the deterioration of facilities; new regulations related to medical examination and treatment; digital transformation of healthcare; operations and activities after the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces.

The leaders of the Department of Health always accompany, direct, and create the best conditions for the hospital to successfully complete its assigned tasks. At the same time, we believe that with the leadership of the hospital's Board of Directors, solidarity, consensus, young, abundant, daring human resources, modern facilities and equipment, the hospital will continue to develop to new heights.

Dong Nai General Hospital currently has more than 1,600 staff. Every day, the hospital receives, examines and treats 3,500-4,000 outpatients; and treats more than 1,000 inpatients.
