Celebrating 29 years of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (October 24, 1995)

Entering a new journey

In particular, the "transformation" step was clearly seen last year when the locality was honored to host the National Tourism Year 2023 for the first time with the theme "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence". In addition to effectively promoting the destination's image and creating a buzz, this event is also a "push" to attract investment and development projects, aiming to improve the quality, class, and professionalism of Binh Thuan tourism in the new journey... With Phu Quy - the "pearl island" of Binh Thuan, recently it has also become an attractive tourist destination, chosen by many tourists from everywhere to visit and experience in the months with calm weather and calm seas.

Along with that, the expressways such as Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao passing through the province have been officially put into operation, significantly shortening travel time, creating a strong attraction for the southern tourist market... Thanks to favorable factors, the local tourism industry ended 2023 very successfully with impressive numbers: Welcoming about 8.35 million visitors, an increase of approximately 46% over the previous year (of which international visitors had 274,300 visitors, an increase of 3.13 times), and revenue from tourism activities reached more than 22,300 billion VND, an increase of 63% over the same period.

Entering a new stage, in the first quarter of this year, Binh Thuan also held the Announcement Ceremony of Binh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, to achieve the goals, the locality focuses on attracting investment, focusing on developing the province's three economic pillars: Industry - Tourism, services - Agriculture applying modern technology... In particular, the tourism sector will prioritize investing resources to develop into a spearhead economic sector, while maintaining the image of Binh Thuan as a "Safe - Friendly - Quality" destination. Aiming to build Binh Thuan into a national and international Center for Tourism - Sea Sports, and Mui Ne National Tourist Area to become one of the leading destinations in the Asia - Pacific region.

In conjunction with taking advantage of favorable factors, Binh Thuan is always active and proactive in tourism promotion, communication, and destination promotion in various forms, participating in many events at home and abroad. Locally, the program to welcome and wish the first tourists to Binh Thuan on the first day of the Lunar New Year and wish tourists a happy new year at tourist accommodation establishments is maintained. On the occasion of the Binh Thuan Tourism Day this year (October 24, 2024), the industry also plans to organize the Binh Thuan Tourism Golden Week with many activities to attract visitors taking place at Novaworld Phan Thiet - Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city...

Aiming for impressive numbers

The "transformation" of Binh Thuan destination also shows the contribution from the business community through investment in upgrading accommodation facilities, creating new products, improving service quality, participating in tourism stimulus packages, welcoming and serving guests attentively... Thereby, the whole province welcomed more than 7.3 million visitors in the first 3 quarters of this year (up 11.42% over the same period last year), including about 293,000 international visitors (up 53% over the same period). At the same time, revenue from tourism activities in Binh Thuan is estimated at 18,630 billion VND (up 8.47% over the same period last year).

In the coming months, local tourism will accelerate to "reach the finish line" of the basic targets for the whole year 2024: Welcoming 9.55 million visitors (up 14.36% compared to 2023), of which international visitors will be 320,000 (up 16.67%) and achieving total revenue of VND 25,500 billion (up 14.35%)... If so, this is a remarkable result in the "transformation" of the industry, at the same time exceeding the target of Resolution 06 of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development to 2025, with a vision to 2030, which sets the target of welcoming 8.9 million visitors by 2025. That is also the motivation for the locality and the whole industry to continue to rise in the new year, marking with more impressive numbers to practically celebrate Binh Thuan tourism's 30th anniversary on the path of formation and development (1995 - 2025).

It is known that next year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan will continue to implement the project "Restructuring the tourism industry to meet the requirements of developing into a spearhead economic sector". At the same time, it will create conditions and encourage businesses to improve the efficiency of linkages and cooperation to build chains of products and services that complement each other as well as innovate and add added value to the province's tourism destinations, products and services. In addition, it will also focus on implementing the project "Diversifying types and products of tourism in Binh Thuan province by 2025, with a vision to 2030" issued by the Provincial People's Committee in the middle of this year. It includes the goal of diversifying basic tourism types and products by 2025 and creating specialized tourism products: Cultural - historical tourism, community tourism, agricultural tourism, marine - forest - sand dune ecology (sea sports, sand sports ...). In addition, the market will be gradually expanded, increasing the number of tourists to 11.4 million by 2025 and contributing about 10% to the province's GRDP...
