Besides the prestigious medals and certificates, this year's November 20th holiday also left behind warm moments from cross-border teacher-student relationships to personality lessons for students.
"Going first to pave the way": Proud of key projects
Joining the jubilant atmosphere of November 20 across the country, the University of Transport solemnly celebrated the 80th anniversary of its traditional day (November 15, 1945 - November 15, 2025) and the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized the historical role of the school.
From the first major project connecting Hanoi with socialist countries that was restored right after the successful resistance war against France, the Hanoi - Muc Nam Quan railway line, to the expanded National Highway 1, the North - South expressways and the modern urban railway system in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City today, all bear the intellectual imprint of teachers and students of the University of Transport.

Assigning strategic tasks for the next 5 years, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the school to innovate its training program, integrate digital technology, AI, big data, and strive to be among the top 250-300 universities in Asia with some key majors in the top 200, affirming its position as a national key university in traffic science and technology.

At the same time, he emphasized that we are living in the digital age - the age of startups, innovation and creativity.
In the context of rapidly changing technology and a volatile labor market, learners need to be fully equipped with knowledge, skills and the ability to master science and technology to confidently integrate and succeed.
"The school's teaching staff will always accompany the doctoral students, graduate students and undergraduate students throughout their research and study journey at the school," Mr. Quan shared.
The attachment to the teaching profession comes from the happiness of students.
The bustling atmosphere of November 20th also spread throughout the Foreign Trade University.
Expressing gratitude to teachers and lecturers on this special holiday, Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Principal of the school, said that each person comes to the teaching profession by a certain fate. Some teachers come to it through their childhood dreams, some teachers come to it by good fortune on their past journeys, some teachers are chosen to come to the teaching profession...
“No matter which path we take to the teaching profession, our attachment to the profession comes from the happiness we have when witnessing the growth of generations of students,” Ms. Huong shared.

Lao students and their poem in gratitude to Vietnamese teachers
On the morning of November 20, at the Vietnam Teachers' Day Gratitude Ceremony organized by Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, the story of new doctor Phoumy Bin, a Laotian international student, moved the entire hall.
Representing thousands of students speaking at the ceremony, Phoumy Bin shared about the arduous journey to "reach the finish line" of international students.
In the early days of arriving in Vietnam, the language barrier made integrating and acquiring medical knowledge a big challenge. Phoumy Bin experienced continuous failures in the first years because he could not keep up with the learning pace, and was even stuck in his home country at times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the most confusing times, when international students continuously came to the training management office with thousands of questions, it was the perseverance and dedication of Vietnamese teachers that became a support. Thanks to that tireless support, foreign students like Phoumy Bin were able to graduate on time.
Expressing his deep gratitude, the new Laotian doctor composed and read to the teachers a poem “Feelings of November 20” written by himself. In it, there is a passage:
Even though my shoulders are tired, I still stay awake with the lamp on
Composing each page of writing, forgetting the end of the night
No complaints, all my heart
Just hope the students are good and overcome all hardships.
On this occasion, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine also awarded certificates of merit from the Prime Minister to 7 individuals, honoring 8 individuals to receive the titles of professor and associate professor in 2025.

Gratitude activities become personality lessons
At Hoa Sen Secondary and High School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), the series of activities to celebrate November 20th went beyond the festival framework to become vivid lessons about compassion.
Not only stopping at gratitude plays composed by students or touching songs by parents, the school also spreads messages of love through practical volunteer activities.

From giving scholarships, donating to support flood victims to students voluntarily "cutting" their piggy banks to share, all have planted seeds of kindness in the hearts of students.
That is also a clear demonstration of the philosophy "First learn manners, then learn knowledge" that the school always keeps in mind, aiming to build a happy and humane educational environment.
