Kien Giang chess player won 2 silver medals at the 2025 Hanoi International Chess Tournament

On January 17, Kien Giang Sports Training and Competition Center announced that the Hanoi 2025 International Grandmaster and Master Chess Tournament was organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

The tournament is part of the Vietnamese national competition system; gathering 47 players from India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Kien Giang has two IM (international grandmaster) Vo Thanh Ninh and CM (reserve grandmaster) Vu Hoang Gia Bao participating in the tournament.

As a result, Vo Thanh Ninh won the silver medal in IM2; Vu Hoang Gia Bao won the silver medal in FM2.
