As part of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the exhibition displays 50 touching portraits of Vietnamese Mothers - living symbols of maternal love and silent, yet intense patriotism.
The works were made by Colonel, journalist, and photographer Tran Hong - former soldier of Battalion 2, Group 559 of the Truong Son Army - over nearly half a century, from 1976 to 2020. He was also the former Head of the Photo Department of the People's Army Newspaper, with a huge career in press photography and art photography, leaving many marks.

At the exhibition "Memories and Legends", each photo is a slice of time, a life story - where Vietnamese mothers and women appear both simple and extraordinary.
Some sent their husbands and children off to war and never returned, some fought directly with guns, and some quietly sheltered cadres and defended the rear. Although each had a different fate, they all shared a common aspiration: peace for their homeland, independence for their people, and a brighter future for future generations.

Each photo is a mother, a life story, a sacrifice that moves viewers to tears. |
The exhibition opens a space of connection between art and the public, between past and present values, between today's youth and the generations who lived, fought and sacrificed.
The exhibition is open to visitors until May 25 at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center (No. 2 Le Thai To, Hang Trong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi ).
