Delegates attending the ceremony

56 years ago, right at the moment of New Year's Eve of Mau Than Spring 1968, the 125th Naval Group received orders to dispatch 4 ships C43, C56, C165, C235 to carry out a special mission to transport weapons to urgently support the fronts from the Central region to the Southwest region. In the heroic battle on the night of March 1, 1968 in the southern sea, only ship C65 returned to the North, while the 3 ships C43, C156, C235 remained forever in the sea; many officers and soldiers heroically sacrificed.

With the truth that “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom”, our army and people, regardless of day or night, urgently and well prepared all preparations, secretly and unexpectedly simultaneously opened fire to attack and rise up throughout the South, directly attacking major cities: Hue, Da Nang, Saigon, Can Tho, along with 37 towns and hundreds of towns from Quang Tri to Ca Mau and the enemy's main military bases throughout the South.

Veterans of the No Number Ship who participated in 1968 recall memories

From then on, with successive victories in the campaigns on the battlefields, especially the victory of "Dien Bien Phu in the air" in the capital Hanoi , forcing the enemy to sign the Paris Agreement, restoring peace in Vietnam. Our Party, our army, and our people completed the goal of "Fighting to make the Americans leave", switched to the goal of "Fighting to make the puppet regime fall" and achieved complete victory in the historic spring of 1975.

The General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968 was the great crystallization of the strength of the entire nation, an immortal heroic epic written with the great courage, will, intelligence and spirit of self-sacrifice and sacrifice of comrades and compatriots in the North and South, blending the Party's will with the people's heart, with the aspiration for independence, national unification, the aspiration for peace "North and South reunited, what spring is happier" as Uncle Ho wished.

That invincible strength is the unparalleled bravery, strategy, and talent of the armed forces, the widespread participation of all classes of people... including the especially important contributions of the Navy and the Numberless Ships.
