This is a special opportunity for young Vietnamese players to reach out to the world through La Liga's international standard training system.

Vietnam is one of 5 countries representing 3 continents participating in the program. After the selection rounds, 8 excellent young Vietnamese players will be selected to go to Madrid (Spain) to attend a special training camp organized by La Liga, along with 32 other talents from around the world.

La Liga anh 1

La Liga experts are in Vietnam to work on a new project.

In Spain, players will train according to the official curriculum from La Liga Academy, be directly instructed by experts and have the opportunity to compete with youth teams in the La Liga club system - opening the door to bring Vietnamese youth football closer to international professional football standards.

In a conversation with Tri Thuc – Znews , Mr. Ivan Codina - Executive Director of La Liga in Southeast Asia, Australia, Japan and Korea - shared some noteworthy things. "Vietnam does not lack talent, but needs opportunities to develop," Mr. Codina opened the conversation.

The La Liga boss further affirmed that the potential for youth football in Vietnam is huge, but the important thing is to create an environment for young players to access a modern training system - something that La Liga aims for in this program.

“It’s not just about technical skills, it’s also about adaptability,” Ivan Codina continued, stressing that exposure to playing conditions, nutrition, language and living environments abroad are vital for young players to develop comprehensively. This used to be a challenge for both Japanese and Korean players when they first started going abroad.

With La Liga, the goal is not only to send players to Spain for training, but also to create a ripple effect - so that players can later become a source of inspiration, bringing knowledge and professionalism back to contribute to domestic football.

Mr. Codina also hopes that with the current opportunities to step out into the world, young Vietnamese players will gradually continue the journey that leading Asian football nations such as Japan and Korea have gone through, gradually going abroad, adapting and asserting themselves in top European tournaments.
