Previously, a 10th grade female student residing in Phong Thu commune (Phong Dien town) drove a 50cc motorbike to visit her girlfriend (who also studied at Phong Dien High School) in Vinh Ngan village, Phong Xuan commune.

During the trip, the female student followed the instructions on Google Maps. However, by late afternoon, she still had not reached her friend's house and instead went deep into the mountainous area on Provincial Road 71.

Fortunately, at this time, the female student met staff from Phong Xuan Forest Protection Station (Northern Huong River Forest Protection Board) patrolling the forest.

After talking, the staff of Phong Xuan Forest Protection Station reassured, encouraged and took the female student back to the Station.

At Phong Xuan Forest Protection Station, after seeing that the female student was mentally stable and her health was not a concern, the Station sent two people on motorbikes to go through the night, cut through the forest, and bring the female student home safely.

"The location where the forest rangers met the female student was in the Rao Trang hydropower area, about 16 km of forest road from Vinh Ngan village (the house of the lost female student's friend), and nearly 30 km from the lost female student's house in Phong Thu commune," said Mr. Pham Ngoc Dung.

“When I realized I was lost, my car ran out of gas. I cried because I was so confused and scared. Luckily, I was helped by the Phong Xuan Forest Protection Station. Without them, I don’t know what would have happened to me at night in the middle of the forest,” the lost student shared.
