Comrade Tran Manh Hung - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Lai Chau Tourism - Culture Week 2025, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired the meeting; together with representatives of the Department's specialized departments and representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs attending and providing interpretation services as planned.
The working delegation of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hong Ha district was led by comrade Trieu Vy - Party Cell Secretary, Department Director; together with the delegation of the People's Government of Kim Binh district including district leaders, leaders of the Department of Culture - Tourism, Department of Education and Sports, Foreign Affairs Committee and professional delegates.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Manh Hung - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Lai Chau Tourism - Culture Week 2025, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism expressed his pleasure to welcome comrade Trieu Vy and the delegation members to attend Lai Chau Tourism - Culture Week. He emphasized: over the years, the cooperative relationship between Lai Chau province (Vietnam) and Yunnan province (China) has been continuously strengthened through delegation exchanges, cultural - tourism exchanges and especially the memorandums of understanding signed in 2023.
To enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in the coming time, Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed 5 priority orientations: (1) The two sides will strengthen information exchange and cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism; (2) Organize cultural and artistic exchange activities between the two sides in accordance with the practical situation: participate in performances at important commemorative activities, folk festivals, and sports competitions of the two sides; coordinate in organizing fairs, forums, and exhibitions. Continue to organize cross-border spring art festivals; (3) The two sides will coordinate to deploy and promote communication work, introduce tourism images through television channels, newspapers, digital platforms and tourism websites with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the two sides as the connecting points; (4) In 2026, the two sides will coordinate to organize a survey team to build a tour connecting destinations of Lai Chau province (Vietnam) with Hong Ha district, Yunnan province (China) and vice versa. After the survey program, a workshop will be held to assess the feasibility of the tour so that it can be put into operation; (5) Create conditions for tourism businesses to survey the market and open representative offices in each locality.
On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Trieu Vy - Party Cell Secretary, Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hong Ha district respectfully thanked Lai Chau province for the thoughtful and respectful reception; at the same time, affirmed that the government and professional agencies of Hong Ha district and Kim Binh district always attach importance to and prioritize promoting cooperative relations with Lai Chau province. He said that in recent times, Hong Ha district has achieved many positive results in socio-economic development, especially in the tourism sector with increasingly complete infrastructure, cultural and ecological tourism products being focused on investment, and the number of international and domestic visitors growing steadily.
Comrade Trieu Vy emphasized the wish that the two sides continue to expand substantive cooperation in tourism development, especially building a long-term coordination mechanism, enhancing exchanges between travel businesses, creating conditions for businesses of the two localities to survey the market, forming tours and connecting tourism routes. He believed that close coordination between management agencies and the business community would contribute to promoting cross-border tourism development, bringing practical benefits to both sides.
The greeting took place in a friendly and respectful atmosphere, contributing to strengthening the good neighborly relationship and expanding comprehensive cooperation between Lai Chau province and localities of Yunnan province (China), creating an important foundation for border tourism development in the coming time.
According to the Plan, the Delegation of Hong Ha district and districts will participate in a series of activities of the Tourism - Culture Week and the 2nd Lai Chau Marathon in 2025, including: attending the Opening Ceremony, visiting the exhibition booth, surveying O Quy Ho Pass, participating in the Vietnam - China cultural exchange program and business connection activities.
At the greeting ceremony, the leaders of the two sides exchanged meaningful gifts and took souvenir photos.
