Lai Chau: Prolonged heavy rain causes serious landslides on National Highway 4D

According to information from Lai Chau Provincial Police, from the night of May 19 to the early morning of May 20, due to the impact of moderate to very heavy rain, at Km 25+300 National Highway 4D (in Hong Thu village, Lan Nhi Thang commune, Phong Tho district), a serious landslide occurred, causing the road surface to sink and collapse, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.

The road surface on National Highway 4D has seriously subsided, affecting traffic safety.

To ensure safety and serve the construction and troubleshooting, the Traffic Police Department of Lai Chau Provincial Police deployed forces to organize traffic flow at 3 points: Km 25+300 National Highway 4D, Muong So intersection (Phong Tho district) and Sung Phai intersection (Lai Chau city).

Traffic police force conduct traffic flow to ensure traffic safety on the collapsed road section.

Accordingly, authorities have instructed vehicles from Lai Chau City to Phong Tho and vice versa to move along Provincial Road 130 to avoid landslide areas.

Lai Chau Provincial Police also recommended that people follow traffic flow instructions, not enter dangerous areas on their own, and closely monitor weather warnings.
