Bank interest rates today May 29, 2025: Top banks...

If the group of banks with compulsory transfer is leading the market in terms of interest rates for deposits with terms of 6 months or more, the highest interest rate for terms of less than 6 months does not belong to this group.

According to statistics, only 5 banks list interest rates from 4%/year for all deposit terms from 1-5 months, including Eximbank, VietBank, MBV, NCB and VCBNeo.

Of which, the two banks paying the highest interest rates for online deposits with terms of 1-5 months are Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) and Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank).

Eximbank listed online banking interest rates on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for 1-2 month terms at 4.3%/year; interest rates for 3-5 month terms at 4.5%/year. On the weekend, Eximbank increased this interest rate to 4.5%/year for 1-2 month term deposits and 4.6%/year for 3-5 month terms.

With the above savings interest rate, Eximbank is holding the position of the bank paying the highest interest rate for short-term deposits.

Meanwhile, VietBank is listing deposit interest rates at 4.1%/year for 1-2 month terms, 4.4%/year for 3 month terms and up to 4.5%/year for 4-5 month terms.

Not counting the highest savings interest rate listed by Eximbank for the last two days of the week, the highest online savings interest rate applied for a 5-month term is 4.5%/year.

However, there are only 4 banks applying this interest rate, including Eximbank, VietBank, BaoViet Bank and OCB .

There are currently 12 banks listing interest rates from 4%/year or higher for all 3-5 month terms. In addition to the above 4 banks, the remaining banks include: Bac A Bank , MBV, NCB, VCBNeo, Vikki Bank, BVBank, GPBank, Viet A Bank and Nam A Bank.

With a 2-month term, there are 8 banks listing interest rates from 4%/year including: Eximbank, OCB, VietBank, MBV, NCB, VCBNeo, Vikki Bank and BVBank.

Meanwhile, only 5 banks listed interest rates from 4%/year for 1-month term deposits, including Eximbank, VietBank, MBV, NCB and VCBNeo.

However, with 6-month term deposit interest rates, the leaders are 3 mandatory transfer banks: Vikki Bank, GPBank and MBV.

Accordingly, the 6-month term bank interest rate for online savings at Vikki Bank is 5.65%/year, the highest rate for the same term as announced by banks today.

The 6-month term bank interest rate at GPBank is 5.55%/year, while MBV announced an interest rate of 5.5%/year.
