A report from the State Bank shows that since the beginning of the year, deposit interest rates have only increased slightly by 0.08%. Deposit interest rates recorded as increasing compared to the beginning of the year are mainly from small-scale commercial banks, but most banks have adjusted their interest rates down since the direction of the Government and the State Bank.
Since the beginning of May, the mobilization interest rate market has recorded 3 banks adjusting interest rates up: Techcombank, Bac A Bank and Eximbank.
Most recently, Eximbank adjusted the increase by 0.1-0.2%/year for deposit terms from 1-5 months with online deposits.
After adjustment, the mobilization interest rate applied on working days of the week, 1-2 month term increased by 0.1%/year to 4.1%/year; 3-5 month term increased by 0.2%/year to 4.3%/year.
For interest rates applied on weekends, 1-2 month term increases to 4.2%/year; 3-5 month term increases to 4.4%/year.
Techcombank 's current interest rates for short terms of 1 month, 3 months and 6 months are 3.25%, 3.55% and 4.55%/year respectively.
Meanwhile, for the same terms, MB applies interest rates of 3.5%, 3.8% and 4.4%/year respectively.
However, for 6-9 month terms, Eximbank adjusted down 0.2%/year to 4.9%/year; for 12-15 month terms, down to 5.1%/year.
GPBank is the latest bank to reduce its deposit interest rates for terms from 6 to 36 months. Accordingly, the online deposit interest rate for individual customers with terms from 6 to 8 months decreased by 0.1%/year to 5.55%/year; 9-month term decreased by 0.1%/year to 5.65%/year; 12-36 month term decreased by 0.1%/year to 5.85%/year.
MB also adjusted down 0.2 percentage points for terms from 1 to 11 months, at the same time, interest rates for terms from 12 to 60 months were also adjusted down 0.1 percentage points, applied to online deposits.
Specifically, the online savings interest rate for a 1-month term is currently 3.5%/year; for a 2-month term it is 3.6%/year; for a 3- to 5-month term it is 3.8%/year. For terms from 6 to 11 months, the interest rate has dropped to 4.4%/year.
Notably, the interest rate for terms from 12 to 18 months has left the 5%/year mark, currently listed at 4.9%/year. The highest interest rate that MB is applying is 5.8%/year, applied to deposits from 24-60 months.
