Lam Dong: A company illegally built a factory on agricultural land for more than 10 years before being punished.

Accordingly, this enterprise arbitrarily converted agricultural land for perennial crops to non-agricultural land to build Lang Hanh tunnel brick factory, with an area of ​​over 2,900m² in violation in Ninh Gia commune, Duc Trong district. The construction was carried out in 2014, but until now – after more than 10 years – it has only been discovered and handled by the authorities.

Specifically, since 2014, the company has constructed a factory with an iron structure, corrugated iron roof, concrete floor, corrugated iron walls on an area of ​​2,694.1m² of perennial land. By 2019, it continued to build an additional 209.5m² office building also on agricultural land.

For the above violation, the enterprise was administratively fined 30 million VND and forced to pay back 262.8 million VND of illegal profits. At the same time, the land must be restored to its original condition before the violation.

Notably, the incident was only discovered and handled by local authorities recently, even though the project has existed and operated for more than a decade.
