Lam Dong launches first voluntary community-based drug rehabilitation facility

From there, helping addicts gradually leave drugs, rebuild their lives and integrate into the community.

The Provincial Police have advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Department of Health and the Commune People's Committees to implement a voluntary drug addiction treatment model at home and in the community to open a new direction that is humane, effective and sustainable. At the same time, eliminating inferiority complexes, stabilizing psychology, maintaining social and family connections and implementing professional treatment procedures helps the process of behavioral and personality recovery to take place more smoothly.

After being established, the Working Group conducted a survey and assessed the records. The Provincial Police Department issued a decision to recognize Bao Lam Regional Medical Center as qualified to provide voluntary drug addiction treatment services at home and in the community.

Brother 1 — Leaders of the Provincial Police and leaders of Bao Lam 1 commune presented the decision to Bao Lam Regional Medical Center.

Accordingly, upon completion of the entire process, the drug addict will be granted a Certificate of Completion of Voluntary Drug Rehabilitation by Bao Lam Regional Medical Center. This is an important return ticket, helping drug addicts have a legal basis to apply for a job and stabilize their lives.

At the ceremony, Colonel Dau Xuan Bao, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, said that this is the first voluntary drug addiction treatment facility at home and in the community to be deployed in the province.

Brother 4 — Awarding decisions to collectives and individuals

The Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department gave instructions to ensure the effective implementation of this model, contributing to building a healthy, civilized society and developing the local economy and society.

At the same time, it affirmed that this is not only the community responsibility of Bao Lam Regional Medical Center, but also raises awareness of the whole community in drug prevention and control, contributing to maintaining stability in security and order, serving the economic and social development in the locality.

Brother 6 — Leaders of the Provincial Police and Bao Lam 1 Commune visited the voluntary drug addiction treatment facility at home and in the community at Bao Lam Regional Medical Center.

On this occasion, the Provincial Police also commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in consulting and implementing the construction of this model at Bao Lam Regional Medical Center.

In the coming time, the Provincial Police will direct the Commune Police to continue advising local Party committees and authorities to coordinate with regional health centers and commune health stations to complete and supplement facilities, equipment and personnel to expand the model of voluntary drug facilities at home and in the community to 100% of commune-level units in the whole province.

Thereby contributing to reducing supply, cutting demand, reducing harm, aiming to completely eliminate drug abuse from social life, striving to become a drug-free province in accordance with the policies set forth by the Party and State.
